I don't blame them. This election has become a farce. Anyone taking it seriously anymore loses credibility. You can't understand what the hell is going on without a satirical lens and a bottle of hydromet.

I'm sure many reporters write their pieces before they even get to the events they're supposed to be covering.

Jesus. That is some farked up shiat.

I'm seeing it something like this:

i45.photobucket.com

"I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. 'Give me five bees for a quarter,' you'd say.

"Now where were we? Oh yeah-the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones..."

While the media's ineptitude gives Jon Stewart much material (and, in turn gives the lulz), the fourth estate needs to get on their shiat.

I, for one, think lolcats are hilarious.

Can we stop with the pseudo-intellectuals constantly going "OMG captioned pictures of animals! The idiocracy is coming!"

Have you people never read Family Circus? That shiat has been around a whole lot longer than lolcats. And we're still semi-intelligent!

You're either with us, or against us. And the lolcats... are winning!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Republican base, where Republicans are the party of the One True God, and Democrats are the party of those "other" people.

Could it be there are Christians praying FOR Obama? Maybe? Just a few? Naaah.

And we'll skip the fact that Buddhism has no "god", that'd just be too much information to handle.

This does pose a unique conundrum to us, my friend. If Hindus are praying for an Obama victory, then that must mean that India is in the tank for Obama. As Pakistanis, we have to do the opposite of whatever the Indian infidels do... but as people with Muslim-sounding names, we're also honour bound to support Obama. And I don't even know what to make of this "Buddha" character.

/so very confused

Seeing as how he's spewing the exact same stump speech he's been doing for weeks, i probably would be doing the same thing too... whether it was McCain or Obama.

Do you really think national reporters report on every stump speech?

I noticed this as well. It is somewhat disturbing for a number of reasons.

1) He seems to be under the impression that Hindu is a god, which requires a fairly huge amount of ignorance of the Hindu religion. Which is a bit of a problem when that is the practicing religion of over a billion people in the largest democracy on Earth, which also happens to be a fairly steadfast ally of ours.

2) He seems to assume that all Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic peoples want Obama to win uniformly, which is a fairly large assumption given the disparate cultures of all three religions.

3) And third, he is implying that Christians are therefore duty bound to vote McCain in the election.

This shows a surprising large amount of intolerance and ignorance on the part of this minister, although based on what has been seen at the McCain/Palin rallies recently, this has become par for the course unfortunately.
