You know...it really isn't that hard to remember. Only the UK and Ireland drive on the left, the rest of Europe drives on the right.

Yet somehow it very common on fark to see people making claims such as most of Europe driving on the left and even confusion regarding which side Canada uses.

As for the accident...I'm going to guess he was driving recklessly. Losing control of your car while passing isn't exactly easy to do. Sabotage would more likely involve things like cutting brake lines or planting a bomb. In any case I'm sure they'll investigate the accident quite thoroughly.

Haider was a Nazi sympathizer, a historical revisionist, and a holocaust denier. He made Dick Cheney look like a hippie. It really is not a bad thing that he's gone from this world. I have mixed feelings about this.

On one hand this was basically the only right wing politician in Europe who had a chance to turn the tides against a far left majority that has turned Europe into politically correct socialists.

On the other hand, I read a story the other day about these "camps" that were being setup for assylum seekers to stop them from breaking the law. When they had not been charged. When they had not even been accused of a crime. You know who else was from Austria and liked to put minorities into camps?

Oh, and Austrians drive crazy. I was staying in a little village called Mutters a few miles outside of Innsbruck. My friends and I took the train into the city but the train stops running at night so we took a cab home. The cabby floored it straight through a red light on the way out of town. When we commented that people usually stop at red ligts in America, he laughed and sped up as we raced up two lane mountain roads. Yes, he passed in the wrong lane around curves. I could not figure out if that is how they drive all the time or if he was just messing with us.
