I'll be surprised if both their heads fit in the studio at once.

They already did. It was on Bjork's soundtrack to "Dancer In The Dark." The song is called "I've Seen It All" and it's awesome.

Ya, it's in TFA. I remember being really excited about it when I heard they were doing it and then really "Let Down" when I heard it's "Debut." Since they've already collaborated once before, there was really no reason to "Post" this article. Subby is a "Creep."

The movie was amazing, though.

Bjork and Yorke?
Couple of dorks.

Subby has a spoon, and would like to be fed with it.
Surely you meant a fork, as that would rhyme.

I love how anything artier than Nickelback is "pretentious". Mostly to the same people who consider anybody with an associate's degree in English "elitist".

Bjork, Bjork
Were you brought by the stork?
Or were you created from butter and cork?
I love you so much that I act like a dork.
Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork.

I was cruising the channel box looking for Mork
Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork.
Or Fantasy Island with suave Mister Rourke
Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork.
But then when I saw her I near dropped my fork
Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork.
My heart spun around with incredible torque.
Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork, Oh Bjork.

// there's more, but I'll stop
/// thank you Brunching Shuttlecocks
//// Best rhyme is with "hork"

Pretentious Pretentious Pretentious

Don't worry about what it means, just say it. All that matters is that you feel smart afterwards.

"What about China, have you seen the Great Wall?"
"All walls are great if the roof doesn't fall"

It's an ... interesting song. Superficially, it's slow, boring, and cutesy. When I put myself in the mindset of a woman condemned to death, it becomes terrifying and weirdly sacred.

That is what I appreciate about the music of Bjork and Radiohead. They approach their art like an art. They play with their music, testing just how far they can push it into the realm of emotion and discovery. Yes, I'm a bit of a music snob. I was taught to be one by a couple of musicians. I'm amazed that this has actually increased the amount of music I like: music from other cultures, from styles I used to hate, from different eras. It's like learning a new language. I can understand so many more musicians than I used to.

/stopped listening to commercial radio, of course
//goes off to listen to some Baaba Maal, or maybe some Iggy, or Kate Bush, Talvin Singh, Boubacar Traore, Tricky...
///still has those Abba CDs from many years ago
////still listens sometimes, guiltily

To be fair, that's just, like, your opinion, man. :)
I definitely find some Radiohead and almost all Bjork to be almost deliberately inaccessible, often atonal and jarring, etc. But just because I think so doesn't mean that I'm suspicious of talent and intellect (which is a very real trait, particularly here in America).
I think that a good deal of Rasiohead (Amnesiac, et al) is horrible, masturbatory, almost spiteful garbage that listens as though it were put together out of pure disdain by Radiohead for the plebeians. On the other hand, I think that 'OK, Computer' and 'In Rainbows are just farking eight-cylinder brilliant.

Bjork I just flat out can't f*cking stand. But it's hard for me to call that 'pretentious,' as that trait is usually reserved for those showing a particular skill. As far as I can tell, Bjork's main skill lies in driving me out a window, ala Clockwork Orange.

Switch Vespertine and Debut, and Selmasongs and Volta, then we'll talk. But Homogenic is one of the most brilliant albums of the 90's. I wish she'd do more stuff with Mark Bell. Or he with her. That was such a beautiful, borderline broken album. It seemed like every song was going to collapse at any second, then it would catch back up to itself and be pretty for a second, then repeat. So fun and engaging to listen to.

/not high

to be a big douchebag, in actuality, refer to this...

Link (new window)
the word has a funny sort of sound in it, sort of like if fjord and jerk had sex and had a mutant baby, which you then stick with a fork.

the "bjor" sounds a lot like "eeyore", really listen Link (new window)

Her name is as weird as she is. But somehow so sexy....

spikeface 2008-10-16 03:26:22 AM
i was also under the impression (from listening to her say it) that it rhymed with 'jerk"... did anyone see her recent shows with the cannons shooting confetti from side stage? freakin awesome.
