Actually, I've heard he's a complete workaholic with his music. And I'm not even that big of a fan.

It's kind of awkward when he repeatedly busts that out at the Grammies.

Damn, next we'll hear that Vanilla Ice and 50cent have given up acting! The Oscars won't be able to come up with 5 actors to nominate.

Yeah it takes a lot of work to drop all those keys to fit his old man voice, and to slow the tempo down, on dozens of excellent rock songs.

If I was Sting, I wouldn't work either. Go buy some deserted island somewhere and lay on a beach the rest of my life.

Who is the little one? A pet, perhaps? Will she be deserving of my...special attention?

I remember the days when musicians/rock stars appearing in films was an event. Now, every douche who ever put out a record thinks he can act.

Early Police is awesome.

Sting, like Ringo, wasn't really that bad of an actor. Could've been better, if he was given better projects to participate in.

/at least he beats Jessica Simpson, Madonna, Beyonce, Mick Jagger, The Bee Gees, Paul McCartney, Roger Daltry...oh, heck...just about ALL musicians except Dwight Yoakam and David Bowie.

Sting should work at Quiznos. If he put lettuce on my sub there would be yelling. Oh yes.

I hear he's pretty good at hole digging.

Why all the hatin on Sting? I saw an interview with him and his wife once. He's worth billions. They live in a castle. He has his own recording studio at the house, and his wife said that he spent 12 hours a day in there, working.

You're all jealous of his castle.

poxic 2008-10-10 11:52:59 PM
He was never more than a mediocre, limited actor, but that's to be expected of anyone who didn't train to act. Some directors used him effectively, though -- try "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" for fun and lots of violence. Sting's part was small and he didn't have to act for longer than a few seconds at a stretch. That worked. That's how to get some decent film out of a non-actor. (Think Dolly Parton and Bette Midler. They were at their best when standing in a quirky pose, delivering sassy one-liners. Actual interaction with others was a bit beyond them.)

/have some Sting discs, he gets about a B grade from me, sometimes B-
//respectable talent and a hard worker, better than me dammit

I dunno. I think he's a very talented dude. The Police were a great band, a lot of his solo stuff was good, and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" was kickass.

So that's all I'm sayin'. You may resume your two-minute Sting-hate now.

He don't have to put on his red light.
