Ok seriously, this is just Democratic WHARGARBLing now. McCain knew a guy who knew a guy.

Obama just knew the guy. But whatever, this isn't going to get any traction on either front.

It's the wife of respected Republican Walter Annenberg. The guy who started the foundation that Ayers and Obama were on the board of. McCain is a friend of Liddy's and was on the board of the Council for World Freedom. This is how the guilt-by-association game works - and it cuts both ways. You cannot question Obama's patriotism based on Ayers without also questioning McCain's. Yes, the whole thing is stupid - but McCain started this shiat and so now it's only fair that we question his own ties to extremists.

Since when does HuffPOS qualify as press?

Not only that, but a quick search on Wikipedia reveals she's 90 years old. Did they really think she'd be in the office today?

darkhorse23: Sorry no. If the Right can do it, then the Left can do it too. If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

Exactly.

If Obama is so evil for being associated with Ayers, then how can McCain accept an endorsement from somebody that has THE SAME association with Ayers as Obama? Does anybody NOT see how this is hypocritical and two-faced? I really wish this whole story would just go away but until McCain stops using it in his commercials and stump-speeches, he ought to be held to the same standard he has set.

DamnYankees: I'm pretty sure the word "hypocrisy" doesn't exist in GOP lingo.

It does:

Hypocrisy:
-noun, plural -sies.
1. a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.
2. a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.
3. an act or instance of hypocrisy.
4. {Republicanese} What the Liberals do, but not us

The longer we talk about irrelevant bullshiat like this and the less time we spend talking about the economy, the more we all lose.

Obama is on point talking about the economy and telling people how he is going to get us out of the hole that Bush/McCain economic and fiscal policy has dug us into.

McCain is talking about Ayers, Wright, and the onion he used to tie to his belt.

Advantage: Obama.

Maybe Obama should start using things like straight talk, being a maverick, or the time he went into Vietnam to fight the Vietcong back in 1985 as a part of Reagan's attempt to quell communism from the world.

You clearly demonstrated how that was in fact not hypocritical or couldn't be defined as hypocritical with that post. Excellent work, shoot the messenger. What was that worth, 2 McCain points?

True, but I'd rather that the Left didn't do it. Let mcCain look like a complete hypocrite all on his own.

Of course, everyone knows that the GOP can't take anything that they dish out.

Anyone look at the list of former ambassadors that support McCain? I'm willing to bet that at least 40% - and that's a lot - of them were political appointees, not career Foreign Service Officers. Like the Pizza Hut dude that Bush appointed as Ambassador, etc.

So really, it's like saying, "Here's a list of top Republican donors that the Bush boys and Reagan gave cool jobs that are now supporting me."

Not too exciting.

Yeah, but Walter and Leonore Annenberg have nice, Amurrikin-sounding names, unlike that socio-fascist-commie Barack HUSSEIN Obama (who doesn't look like the guys on the money, plus I heard his name sounds like "Barack Saddam Huseein Osama Gonna Bombya").

Psst. McCain knew the guy who HIRED the guy, or at least tolerated his presence while RUNNING the thing the guy was one. Why didn't he ever confront Ms. Annenberg and ask why she didn't demand that this former terrorist be expelled from the board of her organization? She would have had far more say over such a thing than Obama ever had.

Fricknmaniac 2008-10-10 02:32:07 PM
This is getting so pathetic now. If you're going to smear your opponent, try and make sure you don't have similar connections.

I mean, he's basically saying b/c they were on the same board, they're best buds, so how can he accept the endorsement from someone else on the same board?

Obama has a pastor problem, McCain gets a running mate with a pastor problem

It's always worse, though. Obama has one pastor problem. McCain has two pastor problems himself (actively seeking endorsements from Hagee and Parsley), and his running mate has one or two (Deranged witch hunter). And not only does McCain have ties with said same domestic terrorist, he also pals around with that hideously evil coont (why the fark isn't he dead?) Liddy.
