Joy Division was amazing. I have all of their LP releases on vinyl and I still listen to them. Amazing. New Order, not so much.

short, but a neat article.

I was just humming "Heart and Soul" when I looked at this page...

New Order is about 100 times more listenable than Joy Division. Mostly because I'm not a depressed adolescent any more.

yeah, New Order does not get the credit they deserve. They changed music several times.

I used to be obsessed with Joy Div, but as someone alluded to already, I think there's a point where most people just end up gravitating to New Order, if they're into those guys. If I'm in the car, what's going to work? New Dawn Fades or True Faith? If I'm doing the housework, is it Dead Souls or Crystal? There's a time and a place, but usually it's for New Order.

/except when I get out the guitar, then it's Transmission all the way

Transmission kicks ass. I'm gonna play it right now.

3 bass players? It's been done.

Well, isn't *he* going to look like a fool when the New Order reunion tour is announced in 2010 or whenever?

Always preferred Joy Division more, but Peter Hook is a terrific bass player. Best line from the article: Obviously the bass players were the best part of any band. What you should have is a band of bass players and then you have no problems.

We'll ignore Sting with the "no problems" bit, but yeah, bass players rule.

/Love my Rickenbacker 4001 and Gibson Ripper

they'll be back together eventually. i've been a fan since the early 80's, and they seem to break up after every record... sometimes multiple times between records.

but in the meantime, i wouldn't mind another monaco album!
