I dare you to find a lead singer that weighs less than Scott Weiland.

Axl Rose has put on a few pounds....

It helps if your singer isn't a heroin addict.

Subby sets 'em up and jaylectricity knocks 'em down.
Well done, gents.

Gavin Rossdale? I'm pretty sure Scott Weiland and Gavin Rossdale together weight less than your average feather.

So they want Meatloaf?

Tried to RTFA, but immediately got "Take the dumb test!"

So I closed it.

/cocaine is a helluva drug
//apparently so is heroin though

Other than recording pussified solo albums, Chris Cornell isn't doing anything.

I suggest Aretha Franklin.

That'd be awesome.

That would be very very very awesome.

I've heard enough of Chris Cornell's screech/wail for a while. Either Soundgarden or shut up. He does have a nice blend of musical talent (ability to write/sing good vocal melodies) and rock 'n roll intangibles, though. Kinda like Axl in that sense.

How 'bout Cedric from The Mars Volta. That'd be crazy, but he's way too "cool" to do something like that.

How about a guy who can write some better songs? All they got so far is Fall to pieces, slither, and you got no right. Not enough for a "super group"

DonnyBaker [TotalFark] 2008-10-09 02:00:23 PM
They should get Corey Glover.

BaronVonAsshat 2008-10-09 02:03:36 PM
Here's an idea, Slash:

LET IT DIE.

Seriously. It wasn't good with Weiland, and it won't be good with anyone else. You're more enjoyable as a character in Guitar Hero. Just stay that way, pleeeeeeeeeeeease.

Supergroups are what non-relevant musicians do when the band that made them famous is done for. When the original band(s) in question are revived (Rage, Filter, STP, so on), the supergroup dies. I'd like to see a Soundgarden reunion, if only to keep Chris Cornell from doing another supergroup or solo album.

MikeXpop 2008-10-09 02:16:20 PM
Hell, if we're throwing out possibilities, why not make it interesting?

It's already happened:

Soundgarden Inadvertently Reunites At Area Cinnabon

In all seriousness, I can't help but think if VR really wanted to work w/Cornell and he them, that it probably would already be happening by now. I imagine they either have their reasons for not asking him or he's turned them down.

/Kudos to the suggestions so far for Aretha Franklin, Corey Glover, and Chuck D.
//As long as we're dreaming, how about Plant or Daltrey?

atowntommy 2008-10-09 04:12:10 PM
How about a more coherent singer at least?

darkjezter 2008-10-09 04:32:32 PM
If it's heavy they want, how about Phil Anselmo?

Touche, sir- Both funny and sad. Why does Kim have to be the one working there? I'd have picked Cameron OR Shepherd before Kim... *sigh*

Not a supergroup, but a super delicious treat!

Whitfield Crane or John Corabi

Oh wow, yeah. It's time for Glenn to put his leather jacket back on.

Velvet Revolver is a great blues-rock band that never quite turned out that way. I'd rather Slash put the Snakepit back together.

I think Pasi Koskinen, formerly of Amorphis, has an amazing voice
