took long enough for someone to get a greenlight on it, that's been known for weeks now...

And Lo, the Angel broke open the Seventh Seal.
And the sea became as blood...

Oooh, so is Duke Nukem Forever coming out the next week?

jerkobson 2008-10-09 12:14:34 PM
While I had given up hope on this along time ago I am very excited at the prospect of this not sucking. Probably will though.

/really hoping for a release on vinyl.

Farkomatic 2008-10-09 12:15:16 PM
Meh...downloaded and listened to it already. It's ok. But it's not GnR. It's Axl Rose and a lot of self indulgence.

i heard it. i think it sounds good. i also know everything, so..... there.

FeedTheCollapse: new My Bloody Valentine will be better.

They have more to live up to than GNR, GNR is following up Use Your Illusion (both very good albums.) . MBV has to try to follow up the most perfect album ever.

Good. I miss the cool, refreshing taste of Dr. Pepper.

I refuse to not buy it until I'm holding it in my hands. Then I'll put it down... you know... because there's just no way it can be any good.

CatfoodSpork 2008-10-09 01:26:32 PM
don't forget about The Spaghetti Incident!

So how do we hold Dr. Pepper to the offer if they back out of the deal?

Gun point?

I enjoy MBV as much as the next guy but, please, get a grip.

I've seen GNR 5 times in concert. Every single farking time, I was let down by Axel Rose. I've heard cover bands sing better than him live.

I hate rockers who can only perform in a studio.

/Serj Tankin and Chris Cornell are examples of the opposite. They sound better live.

I've also seem them.... 4 times as opposed to your 5, but i thought that they sounded great...

Meh...maybe it's just the NY/NJ area?
The rest of the band sounded great...I'm just talking about Axel.

Where's the "Old news is AWESOME" guy?

I will be buying the album on the 23rd.

When you got tickets for the fifth show, were you thinking, "well now they'll be good"? How the hell do you see a band five times if every single time they've disappointed you?

What, did the spiffy tag punch the unlikely tag in the face?
What, did the unlikely tag show up a couple hours late?
What, did the unlikely tag o.d. on heroin?

I'll stop.

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CARES?

GobbleGuru 2008-10-09 04:25:52 PM
...better yet, who cares.
Third-rate garage band thrust into stardom by being in right place at the right time. A.Rose on his best day a pathetic mimic artist. I picture them all doing a reunion tour beginning at the Holiday Inn in Fargo, ND......

1min.therapy.session 2008-10-09 04:41:33 PM
guns n' who?

ohhhhhh...wait, doesn't it have that guy with the hat with a belt around it? and that other guy with that funny dance?

yeah..it's coming back to me now.

i loved the one member that hosted MTV a lot. she was hot!

/drilled the point in deeper than necessary

I can has a Dr Pepper???

Can we vote on a rule that says all stories having to do with "Chinese Democracy" and what Axl calls Guns n Roses must have the "Unlikely" tag?

NorCalLos 2008-10-09 05:49:00 PM
I'm gonna pre-order it. That way, if it doesn't actually get released, I'll still get a copy! Suckers.

flannelcat 2008-10-09 06:05:16 PM
Dr. Pepper and GnR both give me gas. I just listened to the new MBV, and it's not so good.

verbaltoxin [TotalFark] 2008-10-09 06:05:18 PM
I think, "Rocket Queen," is the best GNR song.

flannelcat 2008-10-09 06:09:44 PM
I like that song that Axl Rose sang where it sounded like his balls were in a vice.

shift_DAWG 2008-10-09 06:24:42 PM
I heard the CD's going to come with a Guinness bar towel.

Thanks Axl.

Ya, but Beethoven didn't have fake hair to worry about. Oh wait. Well, he wasn't wearing biker shorts.

So this whole economic crisis is sorta moot, eh?

I saw Body of Lies at a special screening on Tuesday. Walked out while the credits were playing. Had no idea it was them and don't remember what is was. Just a few years decades too late to put out an album. Should we expect a "tour" again?

mistervague 2008-10-10 12:58:13 AM
My dad called yesterday because I had left a big box full of unwanted empty jewel boxes in his garage, and he wanted to recycle them finally. But some of the jewel boxes still contained CDs, and he wanted to make sure it wasn't an accident.

Him: "OK there are two CDs here... Guns N Roses... Use Your Illusion"
Me: "Chuck 'em."

Had to be said.

But I'm still an uncompromising fan of Axl, so while I am stoked to pick this album up next month, if he wants to delay it another 10 years, that's fine with me and I'll just pick it up then.

Sorry, I'm late to the party as usual.

jerkobson "MBV has to try to follow up the most perfect album ever."

The most prefect album ever was The Shape of Punk to Come by Refused.

It was so good the band broke up because they couldn't top it.

This oh this so much.

Refused, especially that album in DVD-Audio format is just ground shaking awesome.

Their collective body of work is better than what some bands put out in a full 20 years.

/Refuse is farking dead

NorCalLos 2008-10-10 01:02:18 PM
That Refused album was pretty sweet. You guys heard United Nations (band)? To me, it's a similar kind of essence.

DOW 2008-10-10 05:38:16 PM
Not "Spiffy".

It's not Guns N' Roses... it's Axl and his Ego.

I heard the album about a month back and was not at all surprised about just how farking bad it was.

Too little, too late, Axl.
