Wow, so he really said "I shot at Janet Reno just to watch her die"?

No way, can't be done.

You see it's because Johnny Cash is really dead.

Im surprised they're not 100 comments on this by now, everyone always has something to say about Cash.

That's because usually 1/2 to 3/4 of the replies on a music thread are "Oh man, that band sucks!"

Cash on the other hand... No one dares to put down for no reason.

/Johnny Cash is the shiat

Yep, don't know how many times I've heard people say, "I don't like country, but I like Johnny Cash."

I remember I was working at a local t-shirt store when some kid came in and tried to tell me Johnny Cash wasn't country.

Me: "What? Johnny Cash is about as country as you can get son."

Kid: "No, Johnny Cash is rock."

Me: "LOL WUT!?"

And most of those don't have a farking clue about country music other than the Nashville pop crap they've heard on the radio. Cash was great, don't get me wrong, but he's just a tad overrated.

TFA fails to mention that American VI will be coming out either this year or next. From what Rick Rubin has said, this will be the last album in the American series, however.

Yeah, though I liked some of Tupac's earlier works he should have never created the false thug persona, or like we say in the stopped acting the fool, and just kept his back up dancing with the Digital Underground. Would still be alive.

Have you heard Everlast's cover of Folsom Prison Blues (pops)?

Sweet jesus.

Who in the hell allowed that to happen?

That was disgusting.

That's what I was hoping TFA would mention. At Folsom Prison kicked my ass the first time I heard it, so yes I will get it again for all the extras. The remix, Christmas and tribute record all seem kinda meh, so I'll be skipping those.

/seriously Rick, get on with American VI...I'm tired of waiting
//and make it two CDs please

Amazon (new window) has a few clips on it's page.

Pretend for me that I didn't use that apostrophe the way I just did.

How? How is Johnny Cash even slightly overrated?

He was an exquisite songwriter, musician, and singer. He created hundreds of songs, he was amazing live, and played well with other musicians. He was the example of a musician that deserves recognition and respect.

Seriously, overrated?

Yeah, it'll be nice to hear BOTH shows from the concert. Picked up the remastered, unedited version of San Quentin when it came out and it's totally worth it.

Ironically, I've been told the ultimate live JC disc is Madison Square Garden. Still need to nab that one.

Cash at Madison Square Garden is great. Dunno if it's the ultimate live cash. I can't decide that sort of question...All of 'em are great. I highly recommend it.
