Sister Ann in first grade in St. Stephen's School in Kearny, NJ, loved me. Thought I was Irish (she was), even though I wasn't. Fact that I was just shy of 3 feet tall helped, too, as she was just over 4.5 feet tall.

Having a good memory, I won all the chatechism contests and spelling bees.

She was a lovely woman.

They could always shift to basement dwellers. They're basically nuns but they don't eat as well.

I hate nuns. They're always providing baseline urine samples for drug tests.

/corn.

They also showed that cervical cancer is an STD, as nuns never developed any.

Q. What do you call a nun you don't like?

A. A nunt.

haxtor 2008-10-07 12:15:58 AM
I have many nun stories, none of them happy.

However, I don't blame them. They were all tools in a larger game.

I'll take that back. Two nuns I knew as a kid where sheer evil. There was no excuse for the things they did.

They used to beat on me in the 1950's. They made me an agnostic. They warped my view of women (but my wife fixed that.)

Guess they did enough for me.

My sister and neice care for the Notre Dame nuns in the study some of whom were my teachers. I've thought about sneaking in and pestering them but I don't want to skew the scientific study.

My Dad isn't a fan of nuns.

Back in Kindergarten, he was attending a Catholic school. One day, he sat down on a chair that was very old, and it broke. One of the nuns immediately slapped him across the face, which gave him a nose bleed.

/She felt bad and gave him her handkerchief.
//Later on, she told him to take it home, have my Grandmother wash it, and bring it back.

As someone who grew up amongst nuns in a hospital (my dad worked there, and the elementary school was near the place) I can testify that I knew two kinds: The ones who just Godsend (gave me and a few other kids chocolates, read us stories and such) and the others that were just plain sheer dictators, the last one were usually in the middle ages while the first type ranged from the youngest to the eldest.

/Grew up amongst jesuits, too

A Tuesday morning hot sexy nun thread?

My senior paper in high school was titled "How Beer Founded Civilization". The basic premise was that what allowed people to settle down moving from a hunter-gatherer society to an urban one was the cultivation of cereal grains. Basically people settled for bread or beer, or as the egyptians did, both (they had a bread-beer mixture that they ate, like cookie dough but with beer!)

It was a fun paper, got me a 96% too.

Started reading TFA, saw nuns and breasts in the same paragraph...had to stop.

I would never want to even think about the breasts of any nun I ever encountered.

/mmm...nun goodness

Seems like every week there has to be at least one headline like: "X is healthy because it contains Y" even though X is the least healthy source of Y, which could also be obtained through A, B, C, D, E.

Except here I don't even think we know what Y is.

1. What in the hell is a chatechism?
2. I am very disappointed because the article says nothing about beer being good for your cholesterol, only that a link was trying to be established

there you go getting my hopes up again

That was far to difficult to process at 1:30 in the morning. I'll just have a beer instead, yanno since the nuns said it's okay.

"They're also altruistic, which means they're willing to participate without complaining or expecting payment, simply in order to advance medical science."

Damn those filthy religious nuts, when will they start to follow science and leave the dark ag.....o wait, umm..

I've never heard of any group of athiests doing this much to further science. Impress us by becoming a control group, do it for the sheer betterment of society.

Nuns. I was educated and tormented by nuns. They will always have my fear and respect.
