Ya know, I think it's a requirement that anybody who calls themselves a "techno artist" remixes this song.

Not only has it been done, it's been done better.

This was one of my recital assignments when I was a kid. Even though I only thought it was a so-so song at the time, I do not like hearing it tortured like this.

I was gonna say I'd be surprised if it wasn't done a bunch of times before.

The beat they added to this song was your basic Yamaha Keyboard house beat.

No, these would be techno artists.

subby, you bastard. "Music Box Dancer" is the song on endless loop on my local ice cream truck, and I thought I was done with it for the year after the guy made his last run of the season a week ago. Now this.

/guess it's better than 2007's "turkey in the straw"

Let's not.

Bunch of killjoys, you all are. I got a kick out of it, anyway.

I would genuinely be interested to hear these other versions, if you can cite them.

Fairly annoying, but nothing's more painful to listen to than what Tiesto did to Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings.

No, I will not link to it. Find it yourself if you're so morbidly curious.

I didn't hear the obligatory science fiction movie quote in the loop so it fails the 'what is techno' standard that strongbad set all those years ago.

I don't think you can cite Tiesto as the sole architect of that hideous tune. William Orbit did an electronic version of the song, and it was not a dance version. That one tune got the obligatory ATB and Ferry Corsten remixes and that's where the tune got destroyed. Unless Tiesto's done another version. The original Orbit album isn't bad, actually.

this is not techno. a 4/4 beat and a clap on the 2 and 4 does not make something "techno"

morans.

But there was technology involved, and, um, robots dancing to a remix of a gay-muled 70s tune.

c'mon.
