Obama has left the Keating Five thing alone so far. If McCain gets cute in the debate I can see Obama springing it on him. And I would love to see him blindsided by it.

The funny thing is, you're right. As long as they can make the right-wing voting base feel warm and fuzzy, that's all that matters. What they seem to have forgotten, and what Obama has capitalized on, is that you need to simultaneously make your base energized enough to actually get out and vote while convincing the opposing supporters that your candidate is better than theirs. The Republicans, with their "ZOMG SECRIT MUSLIN TERRIST!!1!11" strategy, seem to have forgotten that.

What about the whole part about Ayers never being convicted of anything, Obama being 8 years old and thousands of miles away when it happened, and Obama not discussing his hatred of America with Ayers?

I mean, what the f*ck. Do you think Ayers came in to those board meetings and professed his hatred of America before each meeting and Obama just looked at him and said "right on, brother" then they got down to business?

They met several times because they were both on the board of a philanthropic foundation and then Obama was named the political successor of whatever that ladies name at his house cause they lived in the same neighborhood.

No, that's just you with a tenuous grasp on reality but with an iron grip on straws...as in clutching at them.

I've been running non-profit, community based organizations for 20 years. I've served on Boards whose missions I supported. One time, I served on a Board with a guy who was found to have embezzled funds from a different charity. I was in the room with him at least 20 times. I'm probably in some photos with him. This has absolutely nothing to do with me now, nor did it have anything to do with me then.

It's all very strange though. I mean, the lie is blatantly obvious but there are people in the mid-state who really, honestly believe that Obama is a muslim terrorist wannabe. I know, and all they did at those meetings was sit around and plan terrorist attacks.

Honestly, what do you think happened in those meetings? Is this a likely scenario to you?

Obama: "Hey Bill, I hear you're a terrorist."

OBAMA GIVES SECRET MUSLIN HANDSHAKE

Ayers: "Your training has served you well. Let us discuss the future, our future."

OBAMA GETS DOWN ON KNEES AND BOWS

Obama: "Yes, master, our future will be bold and bright. We will crush beneath us the naysayers and unbelievers."

Ayers: "Exactly, al-Barri, my plan to have you take the White House is rapidly unfurling. It's only a matter of time until the blogosphere detects our actions."

Obama: "Yes, they rebels certainly are dastardly, but I have them fooled with my empty promises."

Ayers: "You have done well. Rise and join me on this committee, from which you shall soak in the power of Chicago politics and complete our ultimate objective: you will give me the key to the White House so I can bomb it! This plan is so simple, it is destined to succeed!"

OBAMA & AYERS LAUGH MANIACALLY UNTIL THE SCENE FADES OUT

As seen in the VP debate when Palin said Obama voted against the troops. Biden pointed out that McCain voted the same way and Palin went with the same line two more times. Not that the talking heads made anything of that, however, what with their liberal bias and all.

None of this should be a problem. When asked about his relationship to ayers if Obama had responded with any of your rebuttals, there would be no discussion. All of your questions would have been appropriate. "I was 8 years old." "We never talked about it." "He was a terrorist?"

And he's a llllllllllliiiiiiiiiibbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb.

For 8 years, we've seen what it is like when you are different. Scare everybody in to thinking that someone different from them is bad or evil and you can get them to agree to things that they wouldn't normally accept.

It's like a PNAC wet dream.

Liberal is thrown around as a curse word. So, you throw that on top of the continuing effects of racism and you get a situation where the black guy has to run damn near a perfect campaign for fear of it all collapsing and every questionable person from his past is thrown in his face.

Meanwhile, a guy that skated through life on his dad's last name before switching to his new wife's political connections, that cheated on his first wife and then married a rich heiress, has admitted his bad decisions as they relate to the last time a market collapsed due to fraud after deregulation, and has flip-flopped his major policy stances more than Jimmy Buffet is looked at as a maverick and great American that is just what this country needs.

Sadly, I think you are right.

I said this in another thread: I have been politically active my entire adult life in both local and national politics. If this country elects that lying fossilized piece of shiat and that empty-headed pull-string toy, I am divorcing myself permanently from national politics.

At that point, I will be convinced that my voice doesn't matter and the inmates are running the asylum. I'll still be active locally, in that I really believe I can impact city council, school board, water board and other races. But as far as the Presidency goes...I'm out.

From the April 16 Democratic primary debate, in response to the question posed by George Stephanopolis:

"And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense, George."

Baked Beans lives in a neighborhood where every community member has sex with each other's daughters and sons to prove their loyalty to one another.

/Look Republicans, it's obvious they know each other in a very limited sense, and it's even more obvious that Obama had absolutely no involvement in any terrorist activities. I have a friend who did 2 years in prison, that doesn't mean he didn't change or that by knowing him I'm some how responsible for his crime.
