She later confessed that she had resorted to drastic measures after becoming "fed up" with so many drivers parking in her neighbourhood.

Story doesn't answer the most important question though. Was she shaking her fist and shouting "Raus meine Straße!"?

Great idea. Give the slasher her knitting needles back.

This should turn out well.

It's hard to slash tires, not like in movies or on TV. I'm having a hard time understanding how an 89 year old could ruin one, let alone 50.

She should use all that energy to make soup for the grand kids.

Nursing Home Orderly: Good news, everybody, we're extending arts and crafts time by four hours today.

Nursing Home Orderly: What's that?
Elderly Woman: My fingers hurt.
Nursing Home Orderly: Oh, well, now your back's gonna hurt, 'cause you just pulled landscaping duty. Anybody else's fingers hurt?... I didn't think so.

No, its easy. A nice sharp knife punctures right through the sidewall. I doubt she "slashed" as that would be hard but just puncturing is easy.

Bulge cozy? Why oh why did you have to introduce that into my vocabulary? Do they put elephant ears on the sides like some tea cozies do? Inquiring minds want do not want to know.

Hey, she knitted DNA!

As for knitting "hotties"... check out Craftster. OK, hotties not guaranteed, but it's the place to find a crocheted X-box cozy or a full set of home made plush Mario Bros. characters, or every single LOLcat made out of Fimo. "Not your grandma's craft site", I guess.

I hope there is a LOT more behind this because
"she has been moved to a retirement home"?? WTF!

I want to know WHO moved her, was it the state or was it her kids.
If the state then I sure as hell hope there is SOME sort of check so that they don't just do it on a whim

That is no joke. My wife is knitting for an impending new arrival to our family--- and no joke, the sweater and blanket require more than three kilometers of yarn. That could easily be more than a half-million stitches.

Nice of her to knit for you brother since he is just gonna sleep on the couch.

Yes, unless like me you have the metal stems instead of the rubber ones.

Plus if you just let the air out its not vandalism, its just mischief. Much lesser charge and no property damage.

Hmmm. So many tires, so little time. Can I crochet instead? potholders of course.

simpsonfan 2008-10-05 06:57:53 PM
She should be forced to replace each slashed tire on every car, as long as they were legally parked. If she has to sell everything she owns, tough.

Mmm, knit socks rule. My girlfriend made a pair for me, very nice and warm... which is good, because despite spending ~22 of my 24 years in Buffalo, I still hate the cold. The only sucky part is that the fabric is not terribly durable, they get frayed and fuzzy in a hurry. But for cozy fitted comfort like that, hell, I might take up knitting.
