Jebus Farking Christ!!!! They just purge the liberals from the voter rolls down here in the US. Who knew Canadian conservatives were that hardcore?

Yeah I am kind of surprised that this has happened too. I cant recall something like this happening in the US, and normally us Canadians are much more laid back about everything.

I was wondering how long it'd take for someone to imply a connection between political beliefs and ethics (as if corruption only came from one side).

Now I know.

Yes I know you were 90% joking.

The closest to this in my area, was when some kids slashed the tires of a bunch of vans that the local Republican Party had rented (to haul people to the polls) the night before an election. They caught the kids, and it turned out that they were the children of some local Democrat politicians. Most people believe that the parents had nothing to do with it. However, it is a coincidence that no other like vehicles were available in the area because the democrats were doing the same thing with rented vans.

Of course, it would have been cooler if the vans had there break lines cut. Or even better, if they were rigged with fire bombs! You know, the kind that would activate when the vehicles SPEED went over 55 mph, and then went off when the SPEED went back under 55mph. (what was the name of that movie?)

The Green Party doesn't have time for this nonsense; it's about getting things done.

A) Three former Premiers - one Liberal, one Conservative, one NDP -- all said Elizabeth won the debate on CBC's The Current.

B) A staggering 65% of English debate viewers said their impression of Elizabeth May and the Green Party improved -- far, far better than every other national leader -- leading Ipsos Reid CEO Darrell Briker to comment in The Globe and Mail that "a politiacal star is born" -- Elizabeth May.

C) The Green Party has hit 17% in vote rich Ontario -- the highest level ever!! according to Harris/Decima the pollster that most accurately predicted the outcome of the October 2007 Ontario election.

A war of ideas.

Not surprising. I keep preaching how we humans are still just savage tree beasts with an over inflated opinion of our own nobility. We'll make war for any reason and in any way we can get away with it. In the end, when something rubs us the wrong way, we still revert to the basic instinct to kill whatever agitates us.

Things like this just prove my point.

I actually have a green party sign for this election. I mean there is no way they are going to beat the Liberal candidate in this riding, but the votes send a message.

This isn't just some kids playing a prank, this is some serious shiat. A pattern of behaviour, targeting Liberals. I blame Stephen Harper and the bully tactics he has used in the past year, which would tend to bring out the worst in Conservative supporters.

Noype969 2008-10-05 07:18:07 AM
This is scary.

A friend of mine ran for the NDP in the Alberta election this last spring, and one night she left her election signs visible in the back of her car, and her tires were slashed. The police figured it was targeted because nobody else in the area had reported any tires been slashed that night, and her car was the only one with election signs in it.

My reaction exactly. Glad nobody's been hurt.

Hiro's Protagonist: The Green Party doesn't have time for this nonsense; it's about getting things done.

Despite some concerns about splitting the anti Conservative vote, I just voted Green (in the advance polls) for the first time, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.

I'm hoping for a Liberal/NDP coalition supported by the Bloc, with at least a few seats for the Green Party.

Simply awful. And I thought keying cars with Ron Paul stickers (or any other political) was low down.

Good on the Liberals for not removing their signs. If any decent-minded Conservatives want to put the kibosh on this, they can place a Liberal sign next to their usual sign of support, like what Billings, Montana did with menorahs. (new window)

Menorahs are one thing, but I suspect any house with two signs on their lawn might get their signs reclaimed... by both campaigns. This election is being fought for blood, because the stakes are very high.

For the Americans here: (Conservative PM) Harper has already shown his willingness to fight dirty and put his party's ideology before the nation's well-being, as a minority gov't leader he basically held parliament hostage to get what he wanted, and his campaign has been dirty to the core so far. Personal attacks, ultra reactionary mudslinging tactics etc. The Liberals and NDP know the stakes this time round - either pull out the stops or face a Harper majority doing whatever Harper wants (because the Conservative party is not a democracy these days, he runs it with an iron fist).

I don't know the context of these quotes, but you are a fool if you think there are any words so deplorable that you don't need to consider its context.

For instance, Jonathan Swift once wrote an essay suggesting that poor Irish children should be sold to rich men as food. Deplorable? No, it was farking satire.

Point is, you don't know for sure what the quote is about unless you know the context. Period. If you think you do, you're a deluded fool.

But even if everyone single one of these quotes is just as deplorable as it looks, the person posting it is still a douchebag because they're too much of a pussy and/or lazy ass to actually add anything of their own. They're just farking regurgitators who chew up and vomit other people's shiat.

I haven't had my brake lines cut, my car keyed, or my tires slashed, but every election year I get harassed by some ignorant neocon. In 2004, a guy tried to rip off my Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker because I drove to the polling station & he said it was considered campaigning. Later in the day, some woman called me a baby-killer because I supported Kerry, so was obviously pro-choice (and I am). Last month, I came out of a Starbucks to find a construction worker leaning against my car. He called me a Muslim lover because I supported Obama & Malcolm X (he confused my X-Men logo sticker for a Malcolm X sticker). My Obama lawn sign was spray painted w/"Terorist" (sic).

/And I'm in NJ--a blue state!
//Still waiting for my official Obama/Biden t-shirt. Can't wait to see what kind of hassle I get for that.

Believe me, I want nothing more than to steal or trash McCain signs but I won't. If you don't respect others property or views you are a piece of shiat and should go DIAF.

Just let it go.... You'll find life is allot easier when you let go of blind faith and realize that man is no better or different than animals. One way or another, we just delude ourselves into believing were above them. We are predators, and good ones at that, and until we start playing around with DNA, we will never be anything else. That's why any political system that requires a change in, or the suppression of human nature will fail.
