With all due respect, both Coors Light and Miller Lite are far more drinkable than Bud Light. They all three suck, but Coors Light and Miller Lite suck less.

Anyone else noting the Red Hook-ish labeling they are doing with the new "American Ale" ?

I don't know why, but I expect to pick up a bottle of it and be delicious... when all that could have changed is the label

It is quite an endorsement of one's beverage product to state that it is drinkable.

A cold Coors is a refreshing alcoholic beverage. Nothing wrong with that unless you were wanting a beer.

AiryAnne 2008-10-04 10:21:35 PM
I like good beer, I like cheap beer.

In the words of Samuel L Jackson: IT'LL GET YOU DRUNK!

Coors Light and the like are much better when it's 105 degrees outside than say, Guiness Stout.

Agreed. Nothing Bud even tastes like beer to me. Its like they added a few pounds of sugar to ever gallon. Miller and Coors, while not very good, are at least "drinkable".

I have an embarrassing confession to make: I used to drink Coors Light as a student.

Hey, it was cheap.

Coors doesn't sell well over here in the UK, but they're the Parent company of Carling, which despite tasting like cats piss and being 4%, sells surprisingly well.

Best seller over here is Stella Artois. Reassuringly Expensive.

But i'm a Cider drinker, its what i do best.

Can't stand Bud Light, its normally the forfeit to ask for a bottle or pint if you fail in a drinking game.

Arthur Figgis 2008-10-04 10:22:47 PM
Oh, it's drinkable? Is that what you're supposed to do with it? I had tried to put it in my car and use it to clean my face - neither of those worked.

Christ, it's good that someone finally told me it's drinkable - I had never known what to do when someone handed me a Bud Light. I would typically just look for a discreet place to set it down.

Well, I work in the drunken industry, or maybe drink in the working industry, or at least I drink very industriously or something like that, so I am really threading a kick at these replies, or maybe getting a reply out of these kicks or something like that, you know what I mean.

Because seriously farking, you speakers might fark you know what you are thinking about some of the time but you don't know what you are drinking about any of the time, because I have drunk here just about as long as I set, and I may be as think as some drunkle fark I peep, but I am not as drink as some drinkle thunk I fark, and the drunker I sit here the longer I get so just siss on you, pisster!

I have been in this year twenty businesses and I have never heard such life in all my crap.

Must be the altitude in Colorado. Most Farkers it'd take a case of that to catch a buzz. And that's just not very economical these days. Mind you, Bud Light with Clamato is challenging the survivability of the species.

/not a snob, but prefers the IPAs and anything really hoppy.

"a-bomb37," I would go with a Grolsch lager, in the hokey old-timey flip-top bottle.

Either that or just keep with what you have been drinking all along.

If you don't drink beer just because you are underage, you are one hell of a wuss.

Depends on what you like. For lagers, something like Harps or Stella Artois is okay. I'm not an expert on lagers though. For ales, I prefer Bass or Smithwicks. Guinness is about the only stout that's easily available. For wheat beers, I like Blue Moon (without the fruit slice) or Widmer.

If you don't know about any of that, ask for a half-pint of each of the varieties and discover what you like.

Okocim porter if it's available. I can get it for $1.99 for 500mL (just over a pint) and it's 8.3% ABV. If you like bitter beers you should try it.

Fat-D 2008-10-04 10:31:24 PM
I really believe that Budweiser products are THE WORST ON THE PLANET. What gets me is that people drink this stuff after middle and high school. Grown men who drink that shiat are better off grabbing a wine cooler if they want something sweet.

Any of Michelob's craft collection will do you just fine. A 12er of Amber Bock or their Pale Ale costs the same as a 12 of BudMillerCoors, but is infinitely better.

Get thee to Germany! Where Light beer (helles Bier) only refers to color, as opposed to Dark beer (dunkles Bier).

And Budweiser is from a town across the border in Budvar!
Too late for Oktoberfest, tho, sorry :(

I avoid beer because it tends to have sulfites (calcium sulfite added to the water). Even the domestics, and they aren't required to mark it.

Now, Rum, on the other hand...

I might as well. Murphy's is carried by the local pub, but it's the only other stout on tap. I don't go out enough to try more than the local pub so I deal with the cougars crooning Garth Brooks on karaoke and mediocre selection.

The local liquor store carries more than that (I'm a fan of Old Rasputin), but I was operating under the assumption of a crappy bar.
