Learn to play the tuba; its easier on the fingers. (You'll just need to worry about the entire lower half of your face becoming numb at the end of the night.)

I don't mind audiences clapping so long as they don't clap on every f*cking beat, in the manner of about 99% of the primarily white audiences of the world are wont to do.
