kunibob: In before "HBO doesn't care about black people" jokes.

It's not that they don't care about black people, apparently they DO care about ALL people by redlighting this.

Larry Charles?

So a show starring Kanye West would be too racy, but OZ wasn't?

To late for a Hero tag?

That which does not not kill him, will only make him stronger.

At least thats what he told me.

Showtime will pick it up, they run anything, did you see Doug Stanhope's "No Refunds," it was one of teh most offensive hours of television I've seen in a long time, took me three months of watching it to not fall out of my chair laughing at it.

/Abortion jokes and references to Lemon Party
//strongly doubts Kanye's comedy will be funny, at all

Which probably means that kanye finds it funny but no one else does

I came here to say this...

Philbigtime: Larry Charles?

Director of many many Seinfeld episodes, and almost all the Curb episodes. I think he does writing too...

He also cameos in a couple of Seinfeld episodes -- he looks like Rob Zombie kinda.

+ 1

Thank you, HBO....you did the right thing.

(Could care less about whether it was offensive or not, it's just that Kanye is a giant douche.)

Side note:

If you want to see an awesome HBO comedy special, watch Jim Norton's "Monster Rain".

Love stanhope, reminds me of a drunker bill hicks and you can thank jim norton for the lemon party references, thats all they do surf and find obscure porn.

/kanye does not really want this to happen, HBO is saving this from being a bomb and not in the rappers good way

Thanks be to God.

IMHO Stanhope is the the best working comedian. Nobody I know agrees but whetavar.

I seriously doubt the Kanye has any comedic timing. I suppose I would have to see the pilot to know for sure... but Larry Charles is a funny mother farker. Borat, Curb, Seinfeild, and he directed the new Maher movie "Religious" and that looks pretty good.

Philbigtime: Larry Charles?

Yep. Don't let Kayne know that

RemyDuron 2008-10-03 11:33:52 PM
Hope someone picks it up. Larry Charles + extremely controversial sounds like win, no matter who else is involved. Plus I like Kanye. He's a douche in real life, but his music is good (Lyrics could use work, but he sings/raps well and the beats are fantastic).

That's nice, but they also cancelled Rome, so we're not square.

tokyogirl79 2008-10-04 04:31:54 AM
Well, it couldn't be any worse than "I Want to Work for Diddy".

Actually, it wasn't HBO...the BBC and the Italian channel that were co-producing it backed out when the series wasn't a smash hit like they had hoped. (And believe it or not, it was too much for Britain..wimps)

Tissot 2008-10-04 09:35:03 AM
Thank you HBO.
