The words "Mariah Carey classic" should not ever appear in a sentence again. I'm watching you.

Are the top eight Amy Winehouse?

Oh, c'mon...

Yoko with Lennon, Claptan, et al. on the Rock and Roll Circus? Should have been legendary, but it turned into her caterwauling for way too long.

The VH1 "women of rock" or some such crap, with Celine Dion singing AC/DC?

Never seen that Nickelback one.

If you're going to get popped in the head with something (0:49 second mark), take it like a man, let the audience tear the offending party's head off, get your bearings back, and then let it rip anew (new window).

Which explains why David Lee Roth yelling "I FORGOT THE FARKING WORDS, MAN!" at the US Festival in 1983 isn't on the list.

Also, I saw RATT live once and I can only assume that the person who wrote that list intentionally left off bands that suck at every single one of their shows because it would be grossly unfair to other artists who only suck on occassion.

Did these people completely forget Milli Vanilli getting busted lip synching on the Club MTV tour? I know there's video out there somewhere.

Awesome. I saw The Jesus Lizard open for Ministry here in Seattle back in that era. IIRC, the lead singer whipped out his junk on stage and they got banned from performing here.

As for TFA, what I found amusing was Ozzy being so out of it that he just holds the water cannon pointed in the same direction almost the entire time. Even the crowd management guy looks amused.

how about this rendition of "Expresso Love" by Dire Straits live in 1981, where Mark Knopfler is rather quite drunk [or something, anyway]?

Milli Vanilli came up to Canada for a live awards show, just after the truth got out and they were still in denial mode. They stood up on the stage and on live TV and biatched for 5- 10 minutes that it was all a lie.

/Just long enough for the engineers to change the track that they were lip synching to.

//Up yours to tht nth degree.

I can't believe no one has posted the disastrous Rob Lowe & Snow White 1989 Oscar opening.

I saw this for the first time a year ago. It's a complete horror/freak show. I warn you. What has been seen, cannot be unseen.

The worst ever doesn't have a video unfortunately.

Barry White, Sydney, couple of years ago. The audience all demanded refunds. He sat on the edge of the stage and slurred into the mic for a couple of songs, then quit. It was a stadium show, so this didn't go down well.

I saw RATT live twice. You probably already figured this out but it doesn't get any better the second time.

Came in here to see if anyone else saw that or if I was seeing things...

Good lord, that was dreadful.

Anyone notice how the vast majority of these "embarrassing live performances" from the article and this thread are mostly vocal based?

Why is that?
Is it because singers are usually the least talented/professional of musicians?

Where is the Keith Moon passing out behind his drum kit after taking horse tranquilizers?

....or how about Derek Smalls trapped in his cocoon during "Rock and Roll Creation"?

Earguy [TotalFark] 2008-10-03 10:16:02 PM
craigdamage: Where is the Keith Moon passing out behind his drum kit after taking horse tranquilizers?

Of course, that was followed by Pete calling for a drummer from the audience, and a guy stepping up to the occasion, doing well, and fulfilling every kids' fantasy. Which I'd say is pretty awesome.

metal bands like motley crue and Aerosmiths or guns and roses would have the decency to go backstage... but not that farker. I like her style

I'm not sure if David Bowie getting a thrown lollipop stuck in his eye is cool or embarrassing.

Pontus and the Nail Drivers 2008-10-04 09:28:10 AM
Saw Jimmy Page with The Firm on two consecutive tours. Both times he was so drunk/high he was terrible. The second time I left early. I was tripping on acid, and even under those conditions I could tell he was out of it. My guitar teacher at the time had seen him in the same arena with Zep and said he was too drunk to play then as well. Glad to hear he's cleaned up, finally.

If it was a couple of years ago, then I understand his inability to perform well, since he's been dead since 2003.

Although the idea of seeing Zombie Barry White perform seems kinda cool.

Nickelback Gets Stoned In Portugal

At this point, only douchebags get off on hating Nickelback.

A generic sounding band that has overachieved. Big deal.

I'd rather see bands with actual drums and guitars do well than the hip hop of the week or whatever lip-syncing bimbo the media have built up to be the next Madonna.

I had nothing else to do these last 2 hours at work and thanks to you I just watched the entire 1989 Brit awards. Watching that was as painful as it was entertaining.
