Did I get linked to the wrong thing as that article was dumber than Palin's down syndrome baby.

This is all pretty interesting seeing as how Rolling Stone was 100% in John McCain's corner in 2000. In fact, far from denigrating him like Dikinson does, the Rolling Stone's David Foster Wallace was wowed at what a "cool guy" McCain was.

"One reason a lot of the media on the Trail like John McCain is simply that he's a cool guy. Nondweeby. In school, Clinton was in Student Government and Band, whereas McCain was a Varsity wrestler and a hellraiser whose talents for partying and getting laid are still spoken of with awe by former classmates. At 63, he's funny, and smart, and he'll make fun of himself and his wife and his staff and other pols and the Trail, and he'll tease the press and give them shiat in a way they don't ever mind because it's the sort of sh_t that makes you feel like here's this very cool, important guy who's noticing you and liking you enough to give you sh _t."

1. Submitter failed to mention that the article the linked headline quoted was made in 2000 so it's old noose.
2. There's a David Foster Wallace joke here somewhere, but I won't get hung up on trying to find it.

McCain was nothing but a lonely all-American boy
Looking out for something to do
And Sarah was nothing but a Wasilla girl
She was something like a dream come true
He was a varsity tackle and a hell of a block
And when she winked her eyes she made St Paul rock
And come election night
We feel the fever grow

Yeah, I think I'm going with the dweeb who got the Honors degree in international relations from Columbia and the JD from Harvard over Mr. Goodtimes #894/899 and the sportscast journalism major.

Vote for Urkel folks. It's kind of important.

FTA: Tim Dickinson attacks McCain as acting purely on ambition, doubting his commitment to the country and slamming his integrity at every turn.

John McCain's own words: I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I'd had the ambition for a long time.

So, I guess the Rolling Stone writer pretty much got it right, huh?

This is no longer true. McCain's campaign these days shares more of a resemblance to Hitler's bunker. He's not joking with the press these days.

They spend all their time and energy attacking the media for liberal bias. And then they write articles about how much the media loves John McCain.

Plus the toga parties, plus the wresting, plus the small stature similar to what you'd expect in ancient times, when they didn't have our 20th century standards of nutrition...

Oh my god. McCain really IS that old.

The quotation's from David Foster Wallace, who just recently passed away--and probably would have different things to say about '08 McCain, but who knows?

Mccain has short man syndrome.

Isn't Columbia just to the left of Lenin. I would be more impressed had Obama got a degree in engineering from Rice or any A&M. International relations courses are circle jerks and provide employment opportunities to professors who cold not get hired by the State Department or Corportations with international departments. Being a lawyer should be a negative for any politician.

Nicholas de Genova, assistant professor of anthropology and Latino Studies at Columbia University stated that he hoped U.S. soldiers would experience "a million Mogadishus," a reference to the bloody losses U.S. troops suffered in the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993. He also stated, "The only true heroes are those who find ways to defeat the U.S. military." during a faculty teach-in on March 26, 2003, protesting the impending Iraq War.Professor Nicholas de Genova also praised "fragging" (soldiers murdering fellow soldiers.
