I was wondering the same thing, but I think that the timing is good. McCain got a bump after the RNC, then Obama came back up. McCain's going to get a bump after this VP debate, and then Obama's going to come back up in time for Nov. 4th.

Then, for the general election campaign, Obama surged big with his foreign trip and McCain responded like an idiot with his "Obama is so popular he's like Paris Hilton" bullshiat.

Now it's time for a general rising of the tide again, with the "looks like the GOP ticket is the empty suit and Obama is the guy with the real answers." Anyway, in relation to the actual article, Larry Walsh is from my home town, and Will County is an important county in Illinois when it comes to politics. Anybody who is anybody in Illinois needs to know Larry Walsh, at least if you're a Democrat. So it's not surprising that Obama has known and hung out with Larry for quite a while.
