subby isn't female.

wicked game is an amazing song.

Mr. Coffee Nerves [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 03:38:12 PM
I always was partial to Dale Bozzio from Missing Persons back in the day. Plus, she actually sang squeaked the songs, in addition to being the eye candy.

/a brochure on lawn care! Now that's good readin!

skinbubble 2008-09-29 03:39:07 PM
All I know is that you put a Chris Isaak song on and the girls melt.

dgc360 [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 03:54:00 PM
Wow, no mention of:

1. Freedom '90 by George Michael? (new window)
"Music video - As if to prove the song's sentiment, Michael refused to appear in the music video - which was directed by David Fincher - and instead recruited a number of supermodels (including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Tatjana Patitz, Cindy Crawford, Todo Segalla and Scott Benoit) to mouth the words."

Youtube Video (new window)

or

Billy Idol's Cradle of Love? (new window)

Funny enough both were directed by David Fincher.

honeymaid8 2008-09-29 03:56:20 PM
Subby, are you kidding me?

That video is where I went.... OH! So this is what all the fuss is about.

Bacontastesgood 2008-09-29 04:08:52 PM
theworryrock: wicked game is an amazing song.

You don't have to be a woman to think that is an amazing song. I generally hate country, but damn, to write and sing a song that beautiful would be the accomplishment of a lifetime.

I'm pretty fond of 'Wicked Game' and 'Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing'.

/great for setting the mood

FTH: #1 chick disqualified because Chris Isaak blows

What a wicked thing to say.

HappyHarryHardOn [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 04:31:52 PM
as long as we are discussing people with talent , here

/sigh

Heffaloo [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 04:42:13 PM
So Betsy Lynn George from Billy Idol's "Cradle of Love" gets passed up, but some chick who's only in a video for 20 seconds makes the list?

/fail

Mugato [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 05:16:53 PM
Cradle of Love was kickass. They got Liv and Alicia right though. Their flirty semi-lesbian thing was hot at the time. And what about those Robert Palmer videos with the hot black haired chicks who all looked alike? shiatty songs but the girls were hot.

Kevin5280 2008-09-29 05:56:22 PM
My favorite is the woman in Duran Duran's All She Wants Is (pops). Those lips.

Don't know her name. From 3:10 to 3:28 is when she looks best.

it's amazing but those songs still work as panty remover, and to think, I was only four years old when that song came out.

/another good one, Graduation Day

Rachel Hunter is the quintessential MILF.

theurge14 2008-09-29 06:53:22 PM
No YOU are disqualified. That Wicked Game video was responsible for enough wood growth to revitalize the logging industry.

theurge14: No YOU are disqualified. That Wicked Game video was responsible for enough wood growth to revitalize the logging industry.

HAHAHAHAH!!!!! that was awesome! but yeah, -1 to the subby for that comment, and as for the #2, v hot!!!

but I have to agree with dgc360, no Freedom? I mean, come on, Cindy Crawford alone!!! But I guess the entire list could be women from that video lol

carmody 2008-09-29 07:27:32 PM
I'm a dude and I think "Wicked Game" is a practically perfect record. And that Herb Ritts video is as gorgeous as the music.

Not everything can be [insert flavor-of-the-week hipster band name here], subby.

Gulper Eel [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 07:28:38 PM
No old-school love for the "Sharp Dressed Man" girls? Sheesh.

DoctorCal 2008-09-29 07:40:31 PM
It's funny to think that when this video came out in late 1990 it was considered sexually outrageous

Yes, it is funny to think that.

Tanukis_Parachute 2008-09-29 07:42:17 PM
don't know what the hell is wrong with subby but that is an awesome song and an awesome video.

chris isaak has some really good stuff...

there once was this stripper in costa rica who played this song during a lap dance...an incredible lap dance...

JQPublic [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 07:47:17 PM
No mention of the woman in George Michael's 1987 song "I Want Your Sex"? She is Kathy Jeung and was his make-up artist/girlfriend/beard and is hot. Link (new window)

CarnySaur 2008-09-29 07:47:38 PM
Chris Isaak is great in concert. He really is.
(And being in Fire Walk With Me gives him a free pass anyway.)

Faux Shizzle 2008-09-29 07:49:16 PM
So Chris Isaak blows, but Cherry Pie by Warrant gets a pass, subby?

Riiiiight....

Jani Lane's prosthetic 10 mile wide smile still haunts my nightmares

Jedekai 2008-09-29 07:53:31 PM
Well, DNRTFA, but I'm almost sure Bee Girl from Blind Melon's "No Rain" isn't on the list...

tbn0.google.com

/Because there has to be one douche on every thread.

skinbubble: All I know is that you put a Chris Isaak song on and the girls melt.

I'll go you one better - learn to sing it and the world is your oyster. And by world, I mean her panties.

DemonEater 2008-09-29 08:05:57 PM
Well, MOST of those blow. Aerosmith are the only ones with any REAL cred, and that wasn't one of their better songs. Videos, yes. Songs, no.

That's the first Chris Isaak song I've heard, and yes. He blows. In an Ike and Katrina put together kind of way. With Duke sucking to help out.

Doesn't disqualify the girl though. Drool.

dionysusaur 2008-09-29 08:15:18 PM
galactus5000: skinbubble: learn to sing it and the world is your oyster. And by world, I mean her panties.

Well, oysters are wet and a bit fish-smelling.

Gulper Eel [TotalFark] 2008-09-29 08:20:08 PM
Damned if Chris didn't top the "Wicked Game" video.

Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing. And not the cheesy-ass Cruise/Kidman movie-clip version. The version in which Chris sings and Laetitia Casta displays an astonishing variety of tremendously lewd and lubricious writhing and grinding movements.

You'll be in your bunk.

And you will probably have to replace a couple ceiling tiles afterwards.

And maybe some shingles on your roof.

Roto-Rot 2008-09-29 08:44:32 PM
Windowlicker FTW!

Really heats up at 3:58 mark.

remnant 2008-09-29 08:47:43 PM
Chris Isaak is awesome as a person and as a musician.

InmanRoshi 2008-09-29 09:07:09 PM
Chris Isaak's first few albums were a refreshing breath of fresh air when he was channeling the glory days of Sun Studios at a time when most of the music on the scene was either hair metal or bands shoegazing and whining how their mommy didn't hug them enough.

factoryconnection 2008-09-29 09:23:49 PM

I didn't think that anything could be more wrong than Subby. Turns out: I was wrong. Awesome song... sick video.

All of the other suggestions in this thread (minus "No Rain," natch) meet with my enthusiastic approval.

Whatthefark 2008-09-29 09:54:17 PM
What? No Kelly Bundy with the Guttercats?

FF to 2:00 for the goods. 3:00 is the best part. :)

craigdamage 2008-09-29 11:06:37 PM
I know these union roadies that live and work in San Francisco.

Every single person who has ever worked with Chris Isaak says he is the nicest, coolest most non-pretentious guy they know.

Neil Diamond too.

Biggest asshole/coont awards go to

Tori Amos and Greg Allman.

Came here to say this. I hit puberty the first time I saw that video.

#1 Kim Anderson

Britny Fox - Girlschool

Maduin 2008-09-30 02:50:24 AM
Subby fails.

I knew it was "Wicked Game" ftw by the sixth word. That song become connected to "Song to the Siren", "In Dreams" and a whole slew of Badalamenti pieces.

David Lynch strange as he is, brings the sexy. Perverse as his movies go, and they do... (cringingly so) I think it's going to be at least 50 more years before someone tops that video if ever at all.

/Jeff Buckley's entire legacy can't even touch that song
//Issac won't ever top it either, I'll give you that

guitarpick8120 2008-09-30 03:51:54 AM
So I guess it's just famous chicks in videos? Because I'm quite partial to the two in Silversun Pickups "Lazy Eye" (new window). Both the bassist Nikki Monninger, and the slightly androgynous yet still very attractive girl with the cropped hair.

/I'm sure I could think of other examples of "non-famous" video girls, but this one's been stuck in my head for a few weeks now

Uptown Hipster Doofus [TotalFark] 2008-09-30 03:57:51 AM
Gulper Eel: No old-school love for the "Sharp Dressed Man" girls? Sheesh.

Good call. Although I'm more partial to the "Legs" girl meself.

Galaxy of Prawns 2008-09-30 04:57:31 AM
Roto-Rot: Windowlicker FTW!

Really heats up at 3:58 mark.

I really hope that goes down in history as one of the great satires of hip-hop. Surrealism, innuendo, debauchery, and egotism in one nice little package (giggity), and great music to boot. In a world of instant gratification, only Windowlicker dares the viewer to become aroused.

And when is Chris Cunningham going to break into features? He worked at Spitting Image, for God's sake, so he know's what he's doing.

Olympus Mons 2008-09-30 07:46:02 AM
Isaak did some good CDs. I like the retro sound. However have not listened to him for years, so don't know how he is now.

Where the hell was Biggles 2008-09-30 08:46:25 AM
- PJ Harvey in "Down by the Water." That was enough to make even Beavis and Butt-Head appreciate a classy red dress.

- Siouxsie in "Kiss Them For Me." I might be delayed too... in my bunk.

puckrock2000 2008-09-30 09:49:40 AM
Good looks aside, Christensen's sexually suggestive performance in the Chris Isaak classic video is just plain hypnotizing.

By "sexually suggestive", they mean "refuse to make eye contact with Chris, thus negating any possible sexual chemistry between them". Seriously though, she has such an "I'm so bored, where's my paycheck" look throughout the video, that it almost negates her toplessness.

/almost

Madbassist1 [TotalFark] 2008-09-30 10:15:21 AM
'Song of the Sirens' from 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou?' is sex incarnate.

MizzouGuy 2008-09-30 11:33:22 AM
Helena is hot and sexy in Wicked Game but she kinda looks zoned or stoned through a lot of it, kind of vacant and distant. Which is how I like em, so yea, this is sexy.

I also like em when they're crying, which is why The Cars - Drive with Paulina Porizkova shoulda been included, along with Freedom.

And if you're going to include the actual artist in this list, Shania would be a given

InmanRoshi 2008-09-30 11:37:56 AM
Yeah, the distant look and the "I'm into you ... wait, now I'm not" teasing of Helena is what made it hot. She was playing the part of the naughty, petulant brat, and she needed to be properly spanked ... among many, many, many other things.

InmanRoshi 2008-09-30 11:40:27 AM
Olympus Mons: Isaak did some good CDs. I like the retro sound. However have not listened to him for years, so don't know how he is now.

Last album I had heard was slathered in synth and Pro Tools, and he had lost the sparse production that made him unique.

If Lynch and Kubrick want to feature your songs in their movies, you're probably doing something right and need to stick with it.

Dav-o 2008-09-30 12:21:14 PM
I can't see the list but hopefully Whitesnake and Tawny are on there
I used to slo-mo that baby!
