(YouTube) Cool Great balls of fire. Jerry Lee Lewis is 73 today. He's never stopped touring so he's never home to tell you to get off his lawn   (youtube.com) divider line 19

Awesome! I love celebrating child molesters birthdays!

In other news, Jerry Lee Lewis is apparently still alive.

(from wiki): "Lewis' turbulent personal life was hidden from the publicoontil a May 1958 British tour where Ray Berry, a news agency reporter at London Airport (the only journalist present), learned about Lewis' third wife, Myra Gale Brown. She was Lewis' first cousin once removed and only 13 years old. (Brown, Lewis, and his management all insisted she was 15.) Lewis was nearly 23 years old."

Please, Jerry Lee Lewis doesn't tell kids to get off his lawn... he takes them to the chapel and he marries 'em.

(marrying at 13 was legal in her state with parental approval at that time)

Dude, just because some places still had 1700s-type laws on the books doesn't make it right to marry a 13 year old.

say what you will. the man could play and put on a show.

You gotta give him credit for surviving this long. He's had numerous battles with alcohol and health issues that would have killed an ordinary man.

Other than JLL, Chuck Berry and The Everly Brothers are about the only first wave rock and roll stars left!

Rock on, Killer!

Anyone see him at FarmAid? During the last song, when he was done singing, he just walked off stage. His band kept playing though. It was really weird.

This is awesome, and one of the "livest" sounding clips I have heard of him from this era.

No matter what his troubles, he'll always be The Killah!

Read Nick Tosches biography Hellfire -- not only is Tosches a great writer but it is a great story.

You should check out his "son" Jason D. Williams.

There's a clip somewhere on teh youtubez with JLL and JDW.

Only 73? Wow. I always figure he's like 105.

Not considering his personal life, one of my favorite musicians.

And just because something becomes illegal in the 1970s doesn't make it wrong. I'm not saying that this is such a situation, but your argument is pretty shallow.

saw the Killer once with James Burton on git-tar. great show.
In the middle of the set he did 3 Elvis tunes.
You know why I'M the King? he asked the audience
Cause Elvis is dead
