i really can't believe that wolf blitzer physically forced mccain to suspend his campaign wednesday and katie couric threatened mccain's family if he didn't piss off letterman on air.

"Blood oath"? In order to hear the lamentations of their women? When your political analysis reads like a Conan comic, you've gone off the deep end.

PALIN: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the-it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

Yeah, Couric just savaged her in that interview.

Way to embrace negativity and shrug about the costs there, Diogenes.

Here's some "Real Clear Politics" for you, subby.

Sarah Palin is a mindless idiot whose incapable of rational thought.
John McCain is an irresponsible old fool for selecting her.
The people too stupid to see this have something drastically wrong with their brains.

Politics can't get any clearer than that.

You'd think, after all the damage that's been done by His Yahooness, that the Republicans would make some kind of return to using smart, qualified people. Surely these exist somewhere--but no, no.

You know, if this is what you have to do to win--appeal to the most embarrassing part of "The Base"--you got way worse problems than a "liburl media." Way worse

McCain: 'ladies and gentlemen of the press, this country has been mean to me. It's been mean to my running mate. I cannot get a fair shake from the press and they insist on asking me questions that are not on my approved list of talking points that I issued them at the start of this election race. With that in mind, I have decided to suspend my campaign until such time as the press can be intimidated into shutting the hell up and doing as they are told. thank you and good night.'

I'm just glad we didn't do something bad enough deserve Hillary.

Unless the media accomplished this by using mind control on McCain and Palin to make them say and do all the stupid shiat they've done, I find it hard to believe this article.

RedEyedWings 2008-09-28 04:16:51 PM
Wait ... I thought that was the last two times, and that Bush won two terms in spite of the entire media (except Fox News) being in the tank for the democrats.

Oh, you mean the complete f--king babies whine like this during EVERY election?!

But they're the tough guys. Or at least, they play the tough guys on TV.

My opinion--Rove and the Liberal Bashing Industry won the elections.

What is (hopefully) happening now is that The Base is fracturing. If God is merciful, real conservatives will kick the Neocons and the Evangelicals to the curb

Remove all Republicans: Weaver95: I'm just glad we didn't do something bad enough deserve Hillary.

I still say Hillary should have been the nominee or at least on the ticket. I had no confidence in McCain's ability to do anything other than a smear campaign and that's all he's got. Hillary would at least fight back. Where are the Obama ads attacking McCain's judgment? Where are the ads questioning why McCain thinks it's beneath him to look a black man in the face when he's shaking hands? Why did he only want to look at the moderator and not at Obama? He never did that during the Republican debates. Those are the questions we need to ask him.

No, i'm sorry - but Hillary would have been the most destructive of all possible choices. Had Hillary stolen the nomination from Obama, I would have voted for McCain. I'd also have dressed up like Khan and quoted a lot of Melville while voting.

"Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee. "

Let's just see how long it takes for ANY mainstream media to acknowledge there was a component in the Democratic bailout plan that included a 20% windfall for ACORN.

Remove all Republicans:

The best part is the social conservatives don't think at all and once in power, the party has full reign.

You know, I say this everywhere I go, because I think the social conservatives are nearly as put-upon as the liberals--a values politician sees the values voter as useful long enough to get a vote, then after that, it's down to the bus station to suck a few dicks. The entire "family values" franchise has produced some of the worst governance in history, as well as creating a backlash against religion.

The mainstream media (and all mediums paid for by advertising) are exactly as liberal or conservative as the entities buying ads and paying for that media. When the media fails to produce content aligned with the investors' desires, the message changes.

If you want to see real change, you have to do like McLuhan (and McKenna) wrote about-- become a producer of media not a consumer.

FTFANo matter which ticket wins, the next candidate of color will have an easier time because of the trail Barack Obama has blazed. The next woman to reach for the White House will benefit from a nation somewhat more used to the prospect because of Ms. Palin's candidacy.

How soon they forget Geraldine Ferraro. Perhaps the Republicans would have done better by picking a more qualified female republican Like ...Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Which would have turned-off the nut-case fundies because Hutchinson is pro-choice. For whatever reason, he decided to appeal to the social conservatives. Which, all things considered, would not have voted for Obama under any circumstances.

I don't know if anyone has said this, but I want to make it clear:

There is a reason that news coverage has been bad for McCain and good for Obama. You see, reporters should, ideally, spend their time trying to uncover and tell the people about the truth. You know, things that are real, verifying, and not false. So, when you have one candidate who says things which reflect reality, and one who does not, it is not surprising that the news media appears more favorable to the guy who says true things.

This is also why, in general, people with more education are more liberal.
