If by "KY" you actually mean "guns and hanging ropes", then sure.

Farxist Marxist 2008-09-28 01:10:08 AM
Did GM & Ford get included? We have to make sure their bad business decisions are protected with public money also.

Neurochemist 2008-09-28 01:10:17 AM
They damn well better have reached an agreement after the news that will be coming out Monday about one of Britain's largest banks.

Monday is going to be ugly.

Drakin020 2008-09-28 01:10:25 AM
Here is hoping it doesn't pass.

"So healthcare reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, um, scary thing"

I'm already masturbating in preparation of the buttfarking the American taxpayer is about to get.

Aarontology [TotalFark] 2008-09-28 01:11:03 AM
The House could vote on it Sunday and the Senate on Monday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the accord just after midnight Saturday and said it still has to be put on paper.

I don't like the sound of that. There should be a minimum seven day waiting period between the proposal of a bill and the vote.

beantowndog [TotalFark] 2008-09-28 01:11:09 AM
We don't have the money anyway so what's the difference at this point?

Farxist Marxist: Did GM & Ford get included? We have to make sure their bad business decisions are protected with public money also.

We gave Detroit (including entirely-private Chrysler) $25 billion late last week. Just a little pocket change, slipped between the headlines. A mere month or so in Iraq. They are expected to get another $25 billion next year.

Well, I sure hope that the CEO's do not get paid a cent of this bailout.

NewportBarGuy: Yes, because buying assets no one else is willing to buy is a brilliant idea. Unless they are willing to prop up housing prices by setting a floor on them, these assets will continue to plummet in value.

Dude... it's land. The market artificially inflated, and has regressed again, but ALL land goes up in value. No one should sell these properties in the next 48 months, but in 10 years? At the very least it will end up paying for itself.

Granted, we have to SURVIVE 10 years...

Congressional leaders and the Bush administration have reached a tentative deal on a bailout of imperiled financial markets that could cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars.

This is the part I don't get - they fark up and WE have to pay for it. I want a couple CEOs in farking jail over this.

Anyone notice that all the major financial news takes place on the weekends anymore, and usually in the dead of night?

Damn that's eerie.

NewportBarGuy [TotalFark] 2008-09-28 01:16:32 AM
Holy shiat! It's a staggered plan? Only $250 billion initially with another $100b if they need it? LOL

If they don't buy them all at once it will create EPIC FAIL. Who wrote this up, Corky?

Bank failure? I want the news. Let's start spinning the ol' rumor mill.

And actually, speaking of Britain, I remember months ago the Brits were making fun of us on Fark about this whole situation.

Where are your financial institutions now England?!?!

Sounds reasonable. Can we perhaps do a gameshow- like 'The Running CEO Man'?
