Well naturally if the accident hadn't happened they were going to rape every occupant, kill all the pets, then plant marijuana on them all to charge them with possession. And then they'd take a shiat on their beds just to rub it in. Because that's all they every do, ya know.

/note the heavy sarcasm

How do you determine that the bad guys aren't there? You go into the house and search, room to room.

According to the article, they were just looking for evidence. I think that implies nobody's home. Did the female cop just, I don't know, jump around a corner and yell 'I FOUND THE STOLEN TV!'?

Wait until they find one... they won't miss a chance.

Another example of shoot-first mentality... glad it was one of their own instead of an innocent civilian, minding their own business.

Glad to know non-life threatening injuries gets a chopper ride these days.. footed by taxpayers, naturally.

So it sounds to me like the cop just saw some random person in the house and thought, HEY! SHOOT'EM! I mean, aren't they at least supposed to say something like "HANDS UP!" before they unload a few rounds? This story would probably have read very differently if it had been some teenage, unarmed kid in the house that this guy blew away because it sounds to me like he went in the house with the idea to shoot SOMETHING.

I know the cops apologists will disagree with the generalization, but the police are completely out of control.

It's called identifying your target. This officer clearly didn't do that, and will probably lose his job over it.

Now as to why they would search a house and a ragtag fashion like that with people coming out of doors in front of other officers I have no idea, and can lead to stuff like this.

It happened to someone from my department though it ended up alot worse for him. Link (new window) He's a great man, and fark any of you bastards who say he deserved it.

So hes a hero because he got hurt at work?

Firefighters and paramedics that get injured in the line of duty are heroes. Cops that get injured in the line of duty usually deserve it.

From the foundation website.

"It's been 13 years since Randy Smith, a long-time citizen and resident of Homewood was severely disabled in an on-duty police shooting incident. Randy was an officer with the Birmingham Police Department and was shot as he carried a child to safety in a domestic violence call."

YEAH, HE CLEARLY DESERVED TO GET SHOT.

How many people did he pullover to generate more revenue for his municipality? How many non violent drug users did he help put away? How many no knock warrants did he serve? How many drunk driving checkpoints did he participate in? How many people did he physically and verbally abuse in the line of duty?

You have got to be joking. Issuing tickets and arresting people is a good reason to get shot in the head while getting a child away from being abused? Jesus christ, you people are sick.

Yes, there are some bad cops out there and they should be treated like any other criminal. Just like there are bad doctors out there that should never be allowed to treat anyone, but that doesn't mean every god damned doctor is a terrible person.

Grow up.
