The absence was made even more glaring because Biden was everywhere but the living room.

Katie98_KT 2008-09-27 12:05:28 PM
We were watching CNN last night, and saw Biden and Blitzer's comments. We thought she just gave an interview to Fox or something. She didn't give ANY interviews? At all? That's just pitiful.

Sarah Palin's nomination is the most glaring evidence that John McCain does not have the judgment to be trusted with the most powerful office in the world.

yup. its bad enough now that Mr. O oughta have attached his cojones and gone after her last night.

Lowering expectations for the debate.

That way she can call Biden sexist in front of millions of people. I mean face it, Biden does look like a sexist.

I think by the next Obama/McCain debate, Obama will have a whole catalog of facepalm Palin quotes to use as evidence of McCain's poor choice.

There are plenty several a couple of very qualified GOP VP choices that would not have been an insult to the party, electorate and process. Just his sort of joke.
CcCain chose to spare those women the embarassment and damage to career in what is obviously a farcical campaign.

Enjoy the show. This is the most expensively produced mass entertainment out there. Sort of performance art carried to absurdity.

/I know how to spell McCain.

Did anyone actually believe she would be out and about commenting about the debates?

"My runnin mate, Jon McCain, did a really bang-up job at that debate because, ya know, he just slammed home run and did that idea that he knows what he's talkin about and he is like that light at the end of the tunnel, ya know, that grows bigger and bigger as ya get closer and it's not a train but it's his ideas and principals and his love of God and country that makes him a fungible good while he's out there with the bailout plan. The Russians are afraid of him and Putin is afraid of him and that's what we need. We need to let them know that John McCain can do the job and do what needs to be done and he'll do it."

ExJerseyGirl: Any explanation from McCain/Palin on why she wasn't speaking to the press?

I would imagine it's because she is utterly incompetent at doing so. The Republicans have carefully allowed their choice to have a very specific brand...the hockey mom, tough governor, "Maverette" to John McCain as Maverick. If they allow her to speak, there is a very good chance that she actions in doing so will spoil that image and without it they have nothing.

Because they're all big sexist meanies, of course! Plus the Palins was all fresh outta moosemeat so momma had to go huntin' to put food on the table. While at the same time evadin' the Putin rearin' his head and comin' into the air space of these United States of ours.

Bristol will go "into labor" or Trig will have a health crises or more dirt will come out about her affair.

It's hard to tell sarcasm over the internets, so excuse me if you're not being serious. She had the worst favorability ratings of the four candidates as of a week ago, and the most recent week hasn't been kind. The base still loves her, but seems to be about it:

McCain's other problem is that Sarah Palin may no longer be an asset to the ticket; in fact, she may be a liability. Averaging the candidates' favorability scores across four recent polls -- as one should always try and do when looking at favorability numbers since they can vary greatly depending on question wording -- Palin now has the worst net scores among the four principals in the race: Obama +18, Biden+17, McCain +9, Palin +7

Thank you for the link. Also from that article:

"Palin's average favorability score is now a +7 -- about 10 points behind Joe Biden's numbers. Perhaps more importantly, these numbers are 10-15 points behind where Palin's numbers were just a week or so ago. If voters come in not knowing very much about a candidate -- and the more they see of the candidate, the less they like of the candidate -- this is a major concern."

I honestly did not know that her approval ratings had dropped so much.

Does anyone wonder why? Here's a direct transcript of Palin's political savvy from the Couric interview the other day:

COURIC: Why isn't it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? ... Instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?

Palin:"That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, we're ill about this position that we have been put in . . . where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh -- it's got to be all about job creation too. Shoring up our economy, and putting it back on the right track. So healthcare reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, um, scary thing, but 1 in 5 jobs being created in the trade sector today. We've got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."

Wow......Just.........

Yeah it's changed. For a while the Republican intellectuals (yes they exist) were rooting for her. They are ditching her now. Women have been her harshest critics.

Who else is there? Charlie Crist is gay, Jindal is brown and performs exorcisms in his spare time, Lieberman is a Jew, Romney is Mormon.

Fred Thompson. People may find him boring and old, but on a McCain ticket, its probably the least risky pick.
