I'll never understand what the republicans have against legalizing pot. The feds are already growing the stuff. Why not package it up, sell it for $5/10 joints, put the $4.50 tax into the coffers?

wee: Why not package it up, sell it for $5/10 joints, put the $4.50 tax into the coffers?

Because we should let Phillip Morris buy it from farmers, package it, and then pay a $4.00 tax to put a stamp on the package, same as tobacco and liquor. You really want Uncle Sam growing your weed?

FTA: "Window dressing such as capping pay packages, which the Bush administration has already caved in to. I've got nothing against withholding golden parachutes from failed executives. But artificially capping the pay of people brought in to lead these wobbly companies back to health is a fine way to tell talented executives to look elsewhere for a job."

That's right, because sacrifice is only for the poor and middle class who sign up with the armed forces and risk their lives to supposedly make America a better and safer place.

The rich should never sacrifice anything to help fix America's problems. That's un-American.

FTFA: In fact, Paulson is a lame duck. In four months, he is gone. Paulson is asking for the money not for self-aggrandizement but for the same reason Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and the markets are asking for it: to prevent the American economy from going over a cliff.

so just handing him a blank check with no restrictions as he's allegedly heading out the door would have been a GOOD idea?

I mean, that money would NEVER end up somewhere where he might happen to land a sweet gig shortly thereafter, could it?

like the hanging idea, though. killing's good. it keeps the country Christ-like or something, I hear.

No, I REALLY DO like the hanging idea!

heh.
yeah. spend a few years resurrecting a major failed bank, most likely for way more than a lot of people dream of ever making, despite the lack of "bonuses". What a waste. You'll never land a multi-million-dollar CEO gig after THAT.

please, think of the second-home-less.

Not a few, ALL. Get them ALL. Get the politicians that enabled them as well. Seize their assets. Seize the assets of their families. Use that money to pay down the debt.

Strap them down to a railroad track and have a sloooow (as in 3 or 4 inches a minute) old school steam locomotive run them over, 1 by 1. Lead off with the least offending parties. Leave the king of the bastards at the very end.

We want BLOOD. We will use our VOTES instead. For now.

I think we are onto something.

You know, assassins are always driven by right-wing ideology when they take out a leader. That's a crappy reason to kill somebody, we vote to deal with that (for now).

Revenge on the other hand (for farking up our financial futures) - great reason to kill a leader of gov. corporate America.

Who's volunteering?

It has to be someone with a catchy middle name. Successful assassins ALWAYS have a rhythmic flow to their names.
