Kapranos is a fud.

I remember seeing him 10+ years ago playing in some pub in Glasgow and he was full of his own shiat even then.

It's pretty sad that given some of the great bands that have been playing round Glasgow, the world knows Franz Ferdinand and farking Travis.

Nah, it wasn't as good as their first.

There's nothing wrong with pretentious oh-so-cute contrived rubbish.

It just goes to show you: get shot by a Serbian nationalist, release an album.

Their first was good enough that I didn't care the 2nd wasn't a start to finish good album.

the 2nd album was fine on its own, the 1st album was completely off the farking hook. I loved every track to death.

Its that "difficult second album" curse.

Also see - Kaiser Chief's, Kasabian, The Killers, Kings Of Leon, The Subways, Razorlight, Bloc Party......to name but a few from the top of my head.

Can be hard when DJ'ing coz people wanna hear the new tracks but you just know their ain't no "Mr Brightside" on Sam's Town, no "Molly's Chambers" on Aha Shake Heartbreak etc....

\Loving 3rd and 4th KOL though, Charmer is a GREAT track :D
\\Bloc Party's Intimacy seems like a grower
\\\Hoping FF pull it off with number 3, C'mon the Scots :)

Meh. I liked their first two albums and will probably buy this one, also. Of course, if they're still on an RIAA label, I'll get it used.

Last album a suckfest?

When did that happen?

I seem to have missed the 'It's cooler to hate Franz Fewrdinand than admit my own deficiencies in musical taste' train...

I can't speell.

Last album? First album was pretty bad as well. I never liked Take Me Out, but my wife did and she had the CD. We both agreed it was pretty much teh suck.

I actually like the Kaiser Chiefs second album MUCH more than the first. Sure, Employment's Got Songs like "I Predict a Riot", "Modern Way", and "Oh My God", but what else is there after that? "Time Honoured Tradition"? What a shiat song that is.

(For the record, Kaiser Chiefs' third comes out on October 13.)

I dunno about The Killers' second album, but their latest, Sawdust, is gold. I can listen to it for weeks at a time!

She Wants Revenge had an outstanding first album, I loved every track. Their second was so-so. I liked one of the songs, but I can't even remember which one.
