Here's a thought: Let's NOT have the unstable 15 year old delinquent watch our small children. How about that?

WTF?

/If you abuse a child in my presence we're both going to jail, but you'll be going in an ambulance.

Then there is also the genius who put a four-year-old up to nagging this asshat about not having a job.

Couldn't the 15 year old just have gotten a job instead??

In three more years when his juvie record is sealed, he'll be able to get a real job.

According to Palm Bay Police, a 15-year-old who was babysitting his two cousins was angered when the 4-year-old told him to "get a job."

That sounds like one sassy 4-year-old

The parents of the child sound like real winners, too. They obviously did nothing about it since the sores were noticed by a daycare worker. Why is there nothing about how the parents were negligent, too?

There is nothing in your post I can possibly disagree with. Unless the child abuser really gets me ticked off with really egregious abuse and then no ambulance will be required. Just a hearse. But what kind of parents would leave a child with a juvie?

/Not an internet tough guy. Just really love children and really hate those who abuse them.

Child abuse cases are on the rise. I know this wasn;t the same situation, but a lot fo the abuse cases now are from teenage boyfriends of girls that have a kid to another guy.

The boyfriend feels no connection to the baby and doesn't particularly like the idea that he is second fiddle, so he starts slapping the kid around.

I mean, a part-time job, sure, but not a 40hr/week gig.

it's Florida and the kid has a record. He's probably already dropped out.

Yeah, and in Florida it barely rated two whole paragraphs. In most parts of the country they'd have to hide this kid from the lynch mob formed by the parents and neighbors, but in FL it's just another day. Sentenced to a quart of boiling water poured in his lap -- by his niece.

You're right. Stepdads often fall into the same category. You don't have to be a religious nutjob to believe that parents getting and staying married is the best thing for the kids. Maybe two loving, concerned, involved parents wouldn't have let a 15 year old with this kid's record have anything to do with their 4 year old.

It was said best by Keanu Reeves in Parenthood: "You know, Mrs. Buckman, you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car - hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a father."

Dubai Vol 2008-09-21 09:30:32 PM
The 15 Y-O is not the only asshat in this story. Parents too, both his and the 4 Y-O's.

But really: 15, criminal record, in violation of probation, and assaulting a toddler? We shoot mad dogs; please explain why this waste of oxygen deserves any more consideration. Seriously.

"But, but, he's a human being" doesn't cut it. Giving kids like this an endless string of "one more chances" is part of the reason they get to the point of being complete sociopaths like this. If stepping out of line carried real punishment, you'd be amazed how few kids would get like this. Instead, nothing and no one is safe.

Sissypants is obviously a terrible troll or a farking racist. Child abusers now come in all flavors and colors. Diamond Dave's comment on child abuse is more to the point. Parents drifting in and out of relationships and bringing un-related folks into the picture is the primary cause of the trouble. That problem knows no racial or economic or social-strata boundaries.

So true. I really hope that someday that changes. I know that runs counter to that whole "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" thing but it really is in everyone's best interest.

Once when I was 18 or so (might have been 17), I was helping a bookkeeper in her office. She is the fattest woman I have ever known in person. Her house reflected her weight, and she had 3 fat kids (2 were very sweet). Well, long story short, the maid she had quit. This was the umpteenth one she'd burned through, and her house was just atrocious. I'd been imagining cleaning it everytime I had to go over there (she was also a friend of my mom's). I told her I'd do it. So one day the only things I needed to do was the laundry. Well, her 12 year old daughter walked in with her friends as I was reading a book and doing laundry and with a lovely snide smile said, "shouldn't you be working, instead of having my mom pay you to read?" I was about to knock this girl out. I just couldn't believe her gall. I really liked this lady's husband though. He was a really decent guy, and his 2 brothers were just as nice (nothing weird...they were like, sincerely nice guys). He actually told her she had to fire me, because he couldn't look me in the eye after seeing me clean his family's kitchen. Unfortunately he had a bad heart, and with all the pizzas she bought and all the nights she refused to cook, he died of a heart attack in his sleep a few years later. I don't think she woke up for it.

That girl is legal age to whip her ass now, though. But I think they moved to Nevada or something.

I know we don't need to due it because of overpopulation, but China kind of has something going with that "license to breed" stuff. I can't find that information on it, but I remember hearing that you must be over the age of 20 and be married. Sounds good to me...

Jebus H. Fark.

I can't get this out of my mind, so I'm gonna tell you:

New York, 1935. A mother leaves her two eldest kids with the baby, with instructions (not good ones) to give her a bath. The kids don't know any better, so they BOIL the water and scald the baby within an inch of her life.

This made the front page of The Times the next day. I hope the baby survived. She'd be a senior citizen now.

I'd say it's a start but I'd much rather see the marriage requirement dropped in favor of an IQ screening. Seriously.

My guess is that the 4-year-old heard her mom yelling that at her worthless babydaddy over and over, and just said it at the first male who she saw.

Considering the 15 year old is a sociopath-in-training, she's lucky she wasn't scalded, raped and then dismembered. And the parents are no better. I'd rather leave a child in the care of rabid dogs than that kid. WTF were they thinking?

Hear, hear. I was at the mall a couple nights ago helping my sister by a dress for some swanky gathering she has to go to next week. When we were at *************** (name protected to hide the guilty), I heard this mother laying the smackdown on her kid in a dressing room. I could hear the kid screaming for help and the mother was yelling "shut up, biatch". Not really caring if I got in trouble for it or not, I ran in that dressing room and grabbed the woman's arm and said if she laid one more hand on that kid I was breaking hers.

I'm not a tough guy (or girl in this case) and 99.9% of the time I avoid confrontation at all costs......but I cannot abide the abuse of a child, I don't care where I am.

I used to work at this particular department store in another location, and whenever I'd be in the Kids' section, I'd see all manner of parents.....most with a huge chip on their shoulder about dragging their tykes around looking for clothes. I had to call security more times than I'd care to admit, and it just pisses me the fark off. I am not planning on having kids myself because I just don't have the right mindset to be a parent, but I'll be damned if you're going to beat a kid with me in ear/eyeshot and think you're getting away with it.

Kill these parents with fire. Nuclear fire. Nuclear fire from space.
