I wonder if McCain could lend me one until the insurance company opens tomorrow. An asshat smashed into mine, and it is undriveable.

Thanks, Johnny!

13 cars...

he should invite MTV Cribs to come visit

Did McCain remember to check all of his garages ? Including ones in the houses he doesn't remember ?

NeverDrunk23 2008-09-21 11:34:06 AM
Wait...did McCain tell us how many cars he owns, or did his staff have to get back to us on that?

SphericalTime [TotalFark] 2008-09-21 11:35:06 AM
My favorite part off that article is finding out that Cindy McCain's personalized license plates read "MS BUD"

That, and that the McCains buy foreign. So much for America first.

McCain is rich?

Rich people and politicians are something else. Let's elect some wage slave who wears a hardhat to work.

So can we start calling him John "Two Sheds" McCain?

SphericalTime: That, and that the McCains buy foreign. So much for America first.

2004 Cadillac CTS
2005 Volkswagen convertible
2001 Honda sedan
2007 half-ton Ford pickup truck
a vintage 1960 Willys Jeep
2008 Jeep Wrangler
2000 Lincoln
2001 GMC SUV

I have no idea why he has the Lincoln or the GMC, they're both crappy vehicles. The Jeep and the Ford are bogus; I'm sure the farthest they go off-road is into a gravel parking lot. I don't care if you "buy American", the Honda and VW are smart cars to own. As for the Willys, I will never say anything against someone with the means to do so maintaining a vintage car.

So he owns a few cars. Some of them are duds, some of them I understand. Big Deal.

Can we please focus on issues for a while?

The more we focus on the issues, the more votes McCain loses.

Why? Shouldn't we vote for President like we vote for American Idol or high school class president?

Elitists only own one car.

A man of the people owns as many cars as he can afford. If McCain is serious about getting the redneck vote he should have an old muscle car up on blocks parked beside his house that he's been telling his friends for the past 20 years he plans on restoring someday.

z_gringo [TotalFark] 2008-09-21 12:21:39 PM
How does Obama own only 1 car? That is very suspicious. This needs to be investigated further. He must be hiding his cars in other people's names or possibly using other people's cars illegally.

He must borrow cars from Bill Ayers and Louis Farrakhan.

Obviously Obama is not doing his civic duty as an American consumer.

/My parents really think like this. They explain their conspicuous consumption as "supporting the economy."

While I'm not playing into your paranoying, it was curious to me that the family has one not two cars. I'm guessing that since he flew back and forth from the Senate most weeks he got a ride to and from the airport.

I, too, have been telling my friends for 20 years that I plan to restore my house someday. However, I'm missing the car on blocks next to it. Is that going to be a problem?

Why do people have a problem with McCain's wealth and his willingness to spend a few bucks. Yet this people have nothing but positive things to say about Obama. Obama has never had a real job or served in the military.

The President should be a working man with military experience.

This seems like the opposite with what you said a few days ago.

We have established McCain's wife is rich and he married good. That is not even the remotely most extravagant list of cars I have ever seen.

barcaboy 2008-09-21 02:32:57 PM
Obama was a very highly regarded law professor at one of the world's top law schools.

That's a pretty serious job.

robbiedo: We have established McCain's wife is rich and he married good. That is not even the remotely most extravagant list of cars I have ever seen.

But I don't think it has been hammered home nearly hard enough that McCain is hopelessly, dangerously out of touch. This is yet another indication of that.

bacccc 2008-09-21 02:33:50 PM
Why is this news? It's news because it shows the hypocracy of the GOP.

In other words, you cannot state that you are "the common man" and own 8 houses, 13 cars and spend over $270,000.00 per year on house servants.

/that's the (pretty obvioius) point

Buy Toyota cars: Made in America, engineered by Americans, and managed by Americans people who can actually balance a budget.

This is ridiculous. Yes, McCain has money, but to make it seem like he and his wife are stocking up on cars and burning cash for firewood is over the top. Look at his kids- he has a ton of them and they're all near or above the driving age. Of course he's going to have cars for them all, plus for him and his wife.

Both of Obama's kids are still children.

When your military experience is crashing more jets than you knew how to fly, I wouldn't mark that experience as a positive.

Yes Bush was a Yalie, but he got bad grades there, so he's a normal guy. Just like McCain at the Academy.
