Hotlinked holz hausen.

Dries the wood faster. Seems like a cool idea, but most people I know heat with oil, corn, or barley.

If you call it chopping, you're doing it wrong.

Define 'fix'.

If they zoomed in any closed all you would see is a log. That picture sucks.

that is cool. some year when i have a lot of free time i might try something like that.

Also, I have the same saw as the guy in TFA. I know you all care so much.

sorhed: As an aside. Does it drive anyone else crazy in TV and movies when morans chopping wood do it wrong?!
A little, but that goes for almost everything that they do wrong, which is basically any manual task. Incidentally, do people really call it chopping wood? Splitting. Maybe its a regional thing?

SharkTrager 2008-09-21 09:54:35 AM
My parents have a neighbor who either chops wood for excercise, as a hobby or because he's insane. The guy has at least 25 cords of stacked wood, and some of it has been "curing" as long as they've lived there, which is over 10 years.

One thing he doesn't do is sell wood.

supernaturaltoe 2008-09-21 09:54:56 AM
I've reconsidered. It's better than bad - it's good.

How the F do you get the wood when you need some? You start pulling from the side and it's going to fall, otherwise climb to the top? Just what I want to do when it's snowing outside...

WillieStokes 2008-09-21 09:59:33 AM
"Repeat the pattern until the height is within a foot of completion. Then taper it toward the middle, keeping the wood bark side up. Rain will roll off the roof."

That's some serious reporter-ette fail.

That man's got sloppy wood!

fatgail 2008-09-21 10:01:57 AM
In what manner do you remove the wood? from the top, pull it out from the sides? How does it look once you start taking wood for the fire?

FarkOf40000Years 2008-09-21 10:02:13 AM
Coolest way to stack firewood you'll see all day

That is technically true...
