I think you missed the reference.
Here is an example (new window) (Sorry Bud & Lou you have been updated)

Pete in his prime was special. He was in top form at the Policemans Ball's. I would have linked acoustic Pinball Wizard but the few clips I found had poor sound and I got tired of looking.

That was excellent. Quadrophenia was a masterpiece.

i figured it was gonna be a song from his acoustic set at Secret Policemen's Ball.... nice find subby!!
[haven't seen it since it was on tv a decade ago lol]

i also second pipco's opinion that "quadrophenia was a masterpiece".... it's a underrated concept album... and about 10x better musically and lyrically than "tommy" IMHO... but "tommy's" concept was pretty cool tho.... it just sounded too folky/acoustic to me... i like the rockin'ness of "Quad".

This. Quadrophenia is my favourite album of all time. And for some reason, Pete's Midlife Crisis (Who by Numbers) is a very appealing album to me, the songs are great.

sadly, i have not yet listened to "who by numbers"

well, only "squeeze box" but that doesn't really count LOL.

Defines "awesome."

I also like his non-Who rock operas: The Iron Man and Psychoderelict, which may explain that old child-porn-on-my-computer thing. (new windows)

Pete Townshend is such a good acoustic player. I love his acoustic work on Tommy. Also, there are good videos on Youtube of him playing acoustic versions of Won't Get Fooled Again, Drowned, Let's See Action, Real Good Looking Boy, etc.

is there a young boy on his lap too?
