(The Hollywood Reporter) Stupid AC/DC embraces paperless ticketing, which means that if you forget your ID at home or lost them or got them stolen, you can kiss your entire evening goodbye. But rest assured, the band and Ticketmaster will still profit from this   (hollywoodreporter.com) divider line 21

If you lost or had your ID stolen, I would think you would have other things on your mind besides an AC/DC concert.

Yeah and there is no chance of loosing that little piece of paper.

Who goes to a concert without identification anyway? Unless you like not being able to buy beer ...

Mors 2008-09-19 08:06:05 PM
Er... what is an AC/DC ticket actually worth these days anyway? Ten bucks plus twenty in ticketmaster fees?

If you forgot your ticket for AC/DC just give them a stub from one of your Social Security checks.

I remember when I lost a concert ticket once. I went up to the box office, explained the situation, and even though it was a sold-out show, they let me in.

/not really
//stupid argument

Paperless... AC/DC... Hmm... funny seeing as at the end of the show they shower you with TONS of confetti.. lol... or perhaps they are making amends over that.. lol

First thing that came to my mind.

Humans seem to have an inexhaustible capacity to complain about irrelevancies.

Like airplane food ;)

They sold out Columbus in about 15 minutes this morning. Tickets were around $90.

Times I've paid money to Ticketmaster for the honor of buying a ticket: maybe a hundred times over 15 years

Times I've lost my license over the same 15 years: never.

Ticketmaster is probably somehow making money from this story being posted.

/does not like Ticketmaster

Dufus: m

ticketmaster- where we charge you to print your own tickets, and a 30 dollar ticket gets a 40 dollar 'convenience' fee

I guess on the plus side there will be no punk ass kids under 15 at the shows.

AC/DC and Walmart seem like an odd combination.

Be glad the "Whole Lotta Rosie O'Donnell" tie in with The View fell trough a few years back.

Of COURSE they are going paperless. Rock and Roll and no polution.

And as for partnering with Wal-Mart, with the way they ran off all other competition and then began screwing employees and customers alike, I'd say Wal-Mart has the biggest BALLS OF THEM ALL!!!

Uh...dude
AC/DC is still one of the best shows out there.
Have you ever been to one?
- Classic and funny props,
- Good energy
- They do all their great songs (none of this, we are only going to do the new album shiat)
- they sound awesome (Angus still rocks like crazy)

I've seen "has-been" bands try to play,
AC/DC isn't one of them...they are still going.

So they supposedly "sell-out" and make money.
So what. They still entertain, they still make music.

And that's the only thing that counts,
make good music for the majority of people (you don't like it, don't listen)
and they still get it out there. (if someone makes penny who cares)

I don't trust people who don't trust people who don't like AC/DC

I think the point was to try and look like you're doing something about scalping.

Saying there will be no physical ticket means you have to show up with ID and Credit card or else you don't get in.

I can see what this does. It makes scalpers less likely to buy close seats because they can't resell them

The Toronto concert was within thr first 6 rows ONLY. This means that only people who want to see the show, not scalpers would be buying the tickets.

I agree that the system itself has some holes in it because you still have that, Forgot/Lost ID and credit card problem.

Scalping needs to be controlled better but by who? Ticketmaster seems to be trying, paperless tickets for prime seating, limiting the number of tickets you can purchase, and now they even limit the number of connections from an IP address when accessing the site.

fark in Ontario if you buy a ticket from a scalper YOU are the one comitting a crime because it is illegal to purchase tickets above the price printed on them...

I got my tickets, I got good seats and I'm getting the physical ticket so I'm happy :)
