Shut up Gary, you're out of your element.

What the author of that piece ignores of course is that every initiative that Reid and Pelosi tried to move was stymied by the Senate GOP or by Bush's veto.

This is true. But Reid is a pathetic sack of crap and Pelosi isn't any better.

Of course they pissed it away on partisanship. Politics has nothing to do with doing what's right for the country anymore. It's all about playing childish games & imposing "morality" to piss off the opposition.

President Bush has veto'd fewer Bills than nearly any President in History. Don't blame the Democrats lack of accomplishment on his veto.

Look, I think that we can all agree that both parties have engaged in petty, partisan hackery in the past. But it's time to move past that. There's so much to worry about in the world, and I'm concerned that we're losing sight of the big picture in the face of our increasing divisiveness. I mean, it's likely that Obama may win. But what will that mean for America? I think we need to take a step back and really think about this. Really address the things that should concern all of us. It's a dangerous world out there, a complicated world...is Obama ready to lead? I'm concerned that he doesn't have enough experience. That the democrats don't have enough experience. What if Obama being elected encourages terrorists? What if Osama bin Laden is secretly financing Obama's campaign, is secretly giving money to the DNC? Should we be concerned that Obama wants to institute unchecked an unfettered socialism in the country and open up our borders to foreign invaders? I don't know. I'm just asking the questions. These are questions that need to be asked. Should we worry that democrats want american to fail and want us to surrender to terrorists? Should we worry about the democratic candidate possibly being trained as a muslim sleeper agent? I worry about these things, I honestly do. It's not unreasonable to ask the questions. It's only unreasonable to assume the answer. So let's get some answers and let's get past the partisan hackery. Let's do it for America.

what, for fairness the GOP should just lay down and forget politics because the Ds can't get their act together and compromise on legislation like is done with every bill in the history of the congress? get real.

the problem is they're all corrupted by power, money and access, both parties. if congress did less, regulated less, passed fewer laws, and was given less money to play with, there would be fewer lobbyists to corrupt them and fewer opportunities to be corrupted.

RadioAaron 2008-09-19 11:54:40 AM
I like Reid. Pelosi not so much. Why have we not moved to make an example of Charlie Wrangel? As a Democrat I'm ashamed of any behavior like that, especially from the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Gary is petrified of two things

1) that a landslide of genetically engineered mexicans will undermine american 'culture' and interbreed with our women ensuring the extinction of the true American bloodline of batshiat insane Independents.

2) Secret socialist manchurian candidates who will catapult us into a quasi-stalinist state by slightly altering the tax rate and cosmetically modifying healthcare payment systems.

So yeah he's a pretty reasonable guy
