"Biopicoontil" is my new favorite word.

Damn. The filter, it is merciless.

Wow. I didn't know the filter went after headlines, too. That's awesome.

Shouldn't a big fancy website like Fark be able to program a word filter that understands spaces and two different words? And shouldn't someone at least attempt to edit the headlines?

Dunno about you, but it's a "bit chilly" in here!

I remember reading in some film magazine that Mike Meyers was possibly going to play Keith Moon in that biopic...
is that still true?

I hope he holds out for a good script longer than he held out on touring after Moon died.

What would they want Michael Bay for? This isn't Spinal Tap.

Keith Moon 2008-09-15 02:51:58 AM
Seems to me that you need to have someone who understands The Who (not a fanboy but someone who knows the band and Keith's massive contribution to the music) to write an accurate screenplay. If you don't "get" Keith, you'll never do the movie justice.

That would be cool! He could play the skins with butcher knives. And get Dr. Loomis to play Townshend...hell yeh!

Typing certain words in headlines causes them to be distorted when submitted. The latest gag is "until" turning into oontil added to the end of the word before it.

OMG that's funny!

By the time they finally make this, Myers will be too old to play Moon. They'll have to get a really talented younger actor like Shia LeBoeuf.

FlashHarry: so the filter gets you even with spaces? well, hush its little mouth.

It needs to recognize words separated by spaces because otherwise people would just do t h i s with words they wanted to slip past the filter. There are still ways around it, but you can't stop all human ingenuity.

/WTF, no mention of Rick Wright on the music page?????

Myers who? I think Nicholas Hoult with brown contact lenses would be perfect as baby-faced maniac Moon.

Also, DALTREY IS A FARKIN' BEAST!!! Body like a battle axe.

Surprised that Jason Schwartzman hasn't been mentioned. He can act, looks almost exactly like Keith, and can play the drums.

Came for the Jason Schwatzman comments, am satisfied.
They should go for a 'Backbeat' vibe: not overly sentimental or cartoonish but emphasize some of the more tragic events (killing his best friend/bodyguard, the self-destruction, the sex-addiction).

/my 'umble opinion

Sophistimucated 2008-09-15 04:45:55 PM
Funny, I just remembered an old band of mine that we called "Kipperfeast" after a Moon myth. I'll leave it to you sober-minded farkers to figure out the tale.

Why is it that most of y'all are suggesting American actors to play a Brit drummer? I thought the tendency these days was to get Limey actors to play Americans (House, Batman, Sarah Connor etc. etc.)

Schwartzman does look the part though.
