I didn't realize that many people lived in Alaska...

They shipped the people in from Canada. That's why there isn't video or words with different spellings in Canada.

Wait, I was told that ANY criticism of Palin means that you are sexist. But its women who are criticizing her. So, are they inverted-reverse-counter-sexist?

What's going on?

Well if a black man can be a racist a woman can be sexist. You know. Whatever lets Republicans win.

I have no idea why exactly Sarah Palin reminds me of Bob Dole, but that's what happens in my mind. Especially all the talk about hangovers, but maybe because Dole always looked like a guy who enjoyed the sauce, whatever the public statement about it might be.

/Wasn't Bob Dole too old to run for office? And wasn't he far younger than McCain?

Disgusting (FTFA)

"A local right-wing talk show host broadcast the names and phone numbers of the two organizers over the air. They began receiving a series of harassing phone calls for the remainder of that afternoon"

and

"An anonymous caller contacted the local media on Friday afternoon and told them they were one of the organizers, and the rally had been cancelled. Someone even faxed forged a document saying the Secret Service had cancelled the permit for the rally, even though no permit is required. Some people were putting an awful lot of effort in to making sure no dissent would be heard from Alaska."

For people that claim to love America, they sure hate America.

Does this mean the Campaign To Nowhere is off the rails?

Clearly they are sexist.

I'm impressed. Gotta love the typical behavior by the wingnut radio hosts.

And by "gotta love," I really mean the opposite...that's pretty detestable.

She has a 90%+ approval rating in Alaska, which means less than 10% disapprove of her. Any gathering of "hundreds" must therefore be every single one of them.

I see this approval rating quoted often but I have yet to see what methodology was used to come to it.

In a state as small as Alaska with as much distance between destinations and lack of technology I'm guessing the polls taken there have a ridiculously high external error rate.

Somehow I doubt they were home grown even though that is still numerically feasible since it was only a few hundred. Probably the same sheltered CodePINK housewives that were protesting at the DNC and RNC.

Apparently, for some womyn, protesting is the new cooking and cleaning.

Uh, does it really matter who calls attention to such a rally? I mean, even if the source is at times questionable, showing pictures and video of what's happening is a good thing.

ChickenTits 2008-09-14 05:31:56 PM
Very, very cool. I can't believe the part of the article about people trying to sabotage this thing. God forbid people call out a fundie on her shiat because they are concerned a zealot may potentially influence policy.

Well I see the bigotry and hate mongering against Palin continue. You should probably put all of this energy in to helping Obama and be positive instead of being a bunch of wide eyed zealots on a witch hunt.

Mrbogey 2008-09-14 05:37:27 PM
Well to criticize McCain Dems wanted military, former military, and POWs. So it makes sense that for Palin they'd need her most visible trait. That of being a woman.

Hell, statistically half of the Democrats are women. They'll have a ton of women protesting Palin.

Wake me up when Assholes Against Biden assembles.

I totally agree. People are showing bigotry and hate mongering because she has family values and was a small town mayor. The lies that are being revealed from her campaign are just slander. So she didn't sell the jet on e-bay. She sold it, right? So she sold it at a loss. So what?

And she didn't list books she wanted banned from the town library, she just wanted to know if she could.

But I think you are flaming the fire by calling her a witch.

I love how we have that this one DailyKOS link and all of sudden people start trumpeting about how Fark is SO 100% liberal. I guess that must be true so we never had a pro-Palin/McCain anti-Obama thread on here....ever.

But I do agree that Fark is a parody of itself as it keeps pushing flamewar after flamewar for more traffic.

Some points after seeing the video:

1) that crowd had more men and kids than women, which was odd.
2) give up the "Bristol got to choose!" thing. Srsly, I'm pro-choice (within first trimester) and few things piss me off and alienate me as much as idiots making logical contortions. Yes, Bristol Palin had an option and she likely handily chose to keep the baby. How does that make Palin hypocritical? And if hypocrisy isn't the I'm of that mpronic line, what is?
3) that crowd didn't particularly seem to be anti-Palin exclusively. It wasn't even a protest. It was simply people standing oround waving pro-Democrat/anti-Republican signs. It was a typical election season support demonstration. I think the mouth-foaming zealot writin this entry at Kos put a little too much spin on this one.

Oh, and the Fempower music in the video gave me cavities...

Her exact words were "I listed it on eBay.". She did, and the sale was still on going. Even eventually selling it at a loss means they no longer have to pay maintenance fees and storage costs which were accumulating as they were waiting for a buyer. Sometimes selling liabilities at a loss is more financially wise than holding onto them.

Give it up, there is no blood in that ridiculous talking point turnip.

Goodfella 2008-09-14 05:57:26 PM
Well, as mayor of Wasilla, she charged rape victims $1200 for their rapes to be processed by the police.

That's some sick shiat. Even sicker because she herself is a woman.
