I think I've just reached a cynical critical mass of political threads and comments. Why this is even a race baffles me. It's been said a million times this election cycle but this is it... America will get what it deserves.

And she looks just like me! And she is down-to-earth, just like me! And she's a human being, just like me! That MORE than qualifies her to win the presidency!

Umm..wasn't the GOP freaking out and criticizing Obama for not going to Iraq, even to go so far as to put up a counter since the last time he went? Why isn't the GOP angry that Palin hasn't gone?

I mean, its not like they were pretending that going to Iraq was utmost important simply because it was a Democrat, right?

But she's an average Hockey Mom! Just trying to make a living! Just like all of us! Why it's just like having me a heartbeat away from the presidency. Unlike that Elitist Obama with his "education" and his "helping a community with grass-roots political action" and his "trying to get rid of lobbying influence on Washington". I heard his tax plan will get us a lot more money back than McCain's, but to that I say: Shove your elitist socialist handouts!

I could go there if I wanted, too.

Why is it almost every one of her "qualifications" are the same as anyone on earth's? And why do they keep lying about them? I get it -- at first, "who will ever check this?" but now, they should know everyone is checking everything they say.

I mean, John McCain could walk up to me now, and say, "it's 10:04 am" and I'd have to consult at least two clocks before I took his word for it.

Expect to see more of this in upcoming weeks.

I know I shouldn't respond to morans, but I mean, come on. How many video clips do you have to see of him saying one thing, changing his mind and saying something else while saying he never said the first thing?

If someone changes their position on something, great! Learned something new. New information was found, so a change in position. But do NOT treat us like utter idiots that do not recall that you held a difference stance before. If you changed your position for some reason, offer a logical explanation as to why you changed it. Do not deny that you held a different position before!

I really don't think that's possible, the "conservatives" are extremely honest and forthright and would never do something that shows so little respect for this important American process od electing our leadership.

Palin and the (McCain campaign by association) has just about peaked IMHO. She is well on the way to laughing stock status and by the end of the month will really be more of an embarrassment than anything.

The lying tag has really started to stick to both her and Maverick. It's pretty much over.

I think, however, that McCain fits more into the old man Potter mold. A warped, frustrated old man who is galled by the fact that he can't get his fingers on the Presidency.

Wait, does anyone remember that one political candidate who was a governor, a "christian," was all folksy, pretended to be for small government but really was for corporate giveaways, and was found to be a liar during his campaign? Something about a DUI arrest that he lied about and covered up?

What ever happened to that guy? I bet whatever it was, it wasn't a winning election where he went on to rape the treasury, get us into a war on false pretense, illegally spied on his own people, and was caught several times lying and covering it up.

THE AMERICA PEOPLE ARE TOO SMART FOR THAT.

Oh please. Cheney operated within the laws of the land. I revile him, but I respect that he had firm operational limits. He had realistic goals and was able to predict and contain the outcomes.

Palin is utterly ignorant. I'm terrified of the idea of someone so blindly reactionary whispering into the ear of the POTUS. If she ever ascends to the presidential office, I'm digging a fallout shelter.

fenrael23 2008-09-14 12:12:15 PM

I'm pretty sure that she doesn't know that Kuwait and Iraq are different countries, so its not technically a lie.

echoshizzle 2008-09-14 12:14:16 PM
A Palin spokesperson also confirmed that the governor had visited Mexico on a personal vacation. She has also visited Canada.

Is that the extent of her foreign travel? Because if it is we have a lot in common on foreign experiences.

Now i must vote Palin/McCain 08. (Since clearly she's all the hype for everyone in this country whether you like her or not)

You mean flying over Sarajevo right, or Tuzla, or Banja Luka, or Dubrovnik, or Mostar, or Vukovar, or something like that.

I agree with your joke, and your opinion, you are just off with where the real war was.

My other big question is: when she was in Iraq, did she have to run from the plane to her car dodging sniper fire?

A Palin spokesperson also confirmed that the governor had visited Mexico on a personal vacation. She has also visited Canada.

For some reason, I found this line to be absolutely hilarious.

"The fact is she was a reform governor, she took on an incumbent governor of her own party and defeated him. She sold the airplane and fired the chef,"

I find this to be even funnier.
