(AZCentral) Spiffy There are about 30 homeless people in Beverly Hills, and the locals like Mark Wahlberg and Master P give them handouts of $2,000, bottles of Dom Perignon, and diamond-encrusted bracelets   (azcentral.com) divider line 81

Yep, give homeless people expensive alcohol and $2000 to go and buy buckets more cheap alcohol. Here's some shoes jewellery to pawn. Get yourself some Vanilla extract as well.

I'm pretty sure that the people who own houses in Beverly Hills spend more per day on booze and drugs than the homeless people in my city do in a year.

Good thing the homeless don't hang out at the library where they'll find out about this. There'd be a mass exodus of poor people to Beverly Hills.

Yes, because California is composed of Beverly Hills and San Francisco. Nothing important or useful comes from California. The judgement of one who chooses to drive a Taurus is to be taken seriously.

Yeah, clearly giving food, clothing, and money to the homeless is counterproductive. These rich idiots should follow the lead of corporate America: pretend the homeless don't exist.

Anything to ease a celebrity's guilt. They get paid millions of dollars for what is laughingly called work, and they know it. To make themselves feel better, they do things like this, adopt a hundred kids from Cambodia, campaign against Global Warmingtm, and join the Democrat Party.

Wow. What an unbelievably flimsy article. Rod Stewart gives a ten buck handout and a couple from Manhattan Beach (that's not in Beverly Hills) offer the use of their house to a guy for a year. That's pretty much it.

And then you have a couple bums claiming to get some nice stuff...stuff maybe that was lost or found in a dumpster.

Nowhere in the article about Bett Midler or Donny Wahlberg working the soupline. I mean maybe they do, but shouldnt the article have noted that??

I want my 3 minutes back from reading that crap article.

Give a man a match and he'll be warm for a couple minutes, set him on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

How does Master P have money to throw around? I would have expected him to be one of the homeless people by now.

I always like coming to these homeless threads to read the comments from you morally-superior farkers who think that tossing a few coins at a bum gives the right to chastise them for spending it on a chemical escape from their problems.

Guess what, drunks are gonna drink, you have no right to try and control behavior simply because you give a tiny percentage of your money to a homeless person.

Your revolution is over, Mr. Lebowski. Condolences- the bums lost.

Obviously they're the ones with personality, a quota of a few harmless hobos with character, and not the nutcases who shiat their pants like the rest of us have to deal with that security and police will soundly round up and ship out. It gives some douchebags a chance to feel magnanimous and avant garde without really getting their hands dirty.

In Beverly Hills? Same as everywhere else, but they're buying Cristal and cocaine right off the kilo. Upscale bums. They live in cardboard boxes with travertine paneling.

Githerax 2008-09-14 03:44:52 AM
It's true. I was in Beverly Hills with my wife for our anniversary. A "homeless" man approached us and asked for "help". As I turned to look at him, he took one scan of my attire and went on his way. I was obviously small fish.

FAN-TASTIC idea.

And I assume that you're going to pay more taxes to make up the missing 1.5 trillion dollars a year to the US that is California's economy?

No?

If California bailed on the US, or was "destroyed", the entire country's economy would collapse completely.
