The first of the 90,000 stranded abroad have started landing in the UK

And they're hot!

The lead singer of Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson, who works as a pilot for the UK charter airline Astraeus

So rocking a stadium full of peoples' faces off doesn't pay as well as it used to, I guess.

oh it does but foolish be the man who has all eggs in one basket. Bruce saw this early and provided for it, got a commercial pilots license in case music went to crap, well that and he always had a passion about flying. pretty sure he isn't in it for the money

If the airline standed them, does that mean that they're all gonna get laid by the lead singer of Iron Maiden?

Many (if not most) bis jets in Europe are registered in the US for tax befits and preferential selection for crews with international experience.

If that plane is N-registered they better have a part 135 certificate to be carrying passengers for hire. You don't even have to accept payment to be classified "for hire".

That.

Bruce is what happens when you don't just do something with your life, you do some things with your life. Nothing to do with luck, he just works like a sonofabiatch.

And Steve Harris owns a pub, must go there one day.

I saw some package deals in Metal Hammer where Bruce would fly you from London to an Iron Maiden gig on the Continent and then back again. How farking cool would that be?

Looks like a Pole. She's too thin to be a Brit. Also, Polish chicks dress like 80's hookers.

Are you under the impression, having not RTFA, that they were flown home on the Iron Maiden jet ?

yes charmer The Bruce Dickinson. All of the passengers of that flight left with gold plated dippers.

So rocking a stadium full of peoples' faces off doesn't pay as well as it used to, I guess.

Actually, it doesn't.

Most bands toured to support new releases and digital lets people just sort of grab all that music for free, and the band loses label support that they would have had for tour costs because the labels are losing their asses, too.

Free music is a nice idea, but the people who pirate it are actually paving over the careers of the bands they say they care about.

Either way, being a rock star who flies jets has to be in the top 20 of "kids who lived out their dreams".

I heard it was because, um, he enjoys doing it...

Gary Numan is also a test pilot for an experimental aircraft company. It seems like the cool 2nd career to have.
