Problem is that he'll just keep saying he hasn't changed position and the people will end up believing it. It seems strange to me that facts get brushed under the carpet, lies repeated till believed and when someone contests the lies they're branded some form of derogatory term. I mean just look at what happened when everyone pointed out Palin's faults.

It was pretty sad to see him so thoroughly pwned on The View. Even the two right wing chippies couldn't save his bacon.

Is there also a list equivalent for Obama?

Sure there is. But very few in the media will acknowledge it.

The opposite side in this conflict are the politicians and the people. Some people have confused which side they're on. The trick is choosing the politician likely to do the least damage - Obama is a disaster. McCain is just a bad deal.

The media isn't (generally) biased towards one side. It's biased towards the side that gives them the most drama (right now that's Lipstickgate), and the side that treats them the best (which might be why the press has recently started turning on McCain).

Except for FOX, they're pro-Devil.

What a stupid challenge for McCain to make, does he actually think people won't call him on his bullshiat?

Obama is going to cream this geezer in the debates, the best thing for McCain to to is fake a heart attack and hope to get some sympathy votes.

He doesn't use the internet. He doesn't realize how fast we can check his bullshiat. He's basically running a 2000 or 2004 campaign in a 2008 reality.

Not the America I grew up in. The America I grew up in votes for senile actors. They vote for photogenic gladhanders. They vote based on irrelevancies, non-issues, suits and logos. That's the America I grew up in.

Issues. I don't think anyone alive ever witnessed an election decided on issues.

I thought that the Internet and especially YouTube would force politicians towards honesty. With the gatekeepers weakened and information instantly at every citizen's fingertips, I thought politicians simply wouldn't be able to get away with blatant lying. Shows what I know. The Republicans seem to have taken the opposite approach. They almost seem offended by the very existence of facts.

I think some of us can admit its reasonable to change your positions on certain things after reflection or new data comes in. Often times we label something as a "flip flop" without insight as to what reasoning when into the position change. I think we have to give the benefit of the doubt to each politician who does this...within reason. However, when a politician flips so many times on majors positions and even claims to have never held the original positions, its reasonable that you should reevaluate your opinions of that politician.

Mentat: They almost seem offended by the very existence of facts.

more to the point, the know their insanely tunnel-vision-laden followers simply will not, under any circumstances, accept any challenge to the "truths" they spout. For instance, ask your average Republican if we made a mistake in attacking Iraq - I call this "The Fonz Syndrome"

Well you go with your well-thought-out logic and insightful conclusions if that works for you.

smooshie: The media isn't (generally) biased towards one side.

Incorrect.

The media outlets owned by large corporations are always biased towards the Corporate side.

The six major corporations that own 95% of US media did not invest billions upon billions of dollars in buying up all of the hundreds of formerly-independant television, radio, and television stations just for shiats and giggles.

They invested those billions of dollars in order to generate money, power, and influence for themselves and their ideas.

The power and influence being, of course, neccesary for those large corporations to generate even larger sums of money for themselves.

John McCain will say anything to be president and he'll tell anybody what he thinks they want to hear. That's one thing he and Palin have in common.

If he would explain his changes of position instead of pretending that it wasn't a weekly thing I might be able to consider the possibility that he wasn't blatantly and frequently changing position to pander to Bush's base. Oddly enough this is one of the few things that makes me feel better about a president McCain because he might not be as shiatty as he's promising during the campaign because no one can actually say what the hell his real position is.

The stupid, naive, and uninformed are the easiest portions of the so-called swing-vote to win and lose. Both candidates gun hard to attempt to bullshiat support from them. This is where these kinds of obvious falsehoods are aimed.

Don't take it personally, it's just politics.

McCain can rot in Hell.

Obama says that young children should have some amount of age appropriate sex education so that they can know the difference between good touching and bad touching, to protect them from pedophiles.

McCain says Obama is in favor of "comprehensive" sex education for kindergartners.

Again, McCain can rot in Hell.
