I can't wait until this woman is standing trial, hopefully it will come right before the election, of course if this happens Rove will only arrange for her to shoot Osama Bin Laden dressed as a moose.

Rascal King 2008-09-12 04:55:18 PM
Here we go. Lets see if they ignore the subpoenas so we can official change the name of their party to the Facist party.

Good.

I have to admit I'll be a little disappointed if this whole thing isn't just made to go away. I'm used to the idea that our leaders can do whatever they want without penalty.

Shadowknight [recently expired TotalFark] 2008-09-12 05:21:59 PM
Yeah, I'm expecting them to pull a Rove or Cheney and just say "Naw thanks. That's a nice subpoenas there, but I'm just not interested. Thanks anyway."

They'll ignore them until the public loses interest. Should only take a couple days...

i doubt it. you think the media will ignore such a dramatic situation in the middle of the freaking general election? they'll be like flies on shiat.

You left out a Bush, "Invoking executive privilege" it'd be part of her "executive experience"

They already did that, actually.

Doubt it. They have yet to do it with Rove. Or Cheney. They are all actively refusing to show up for one subpoena or another.

They mention it, but that's about it.

This authorization is contingent upon concurrence of the Senate President.
lol. yeah, i don't think that one is a problem

green on palin:
"She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?" said Green, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?"

In before the first "this is a partisan witch hunt/fishing expedition" gets pwned by someone pointing out the investigation predates the nomination and is bipartisan.

First line of the article: This, of course, is good news.

I'm glad Kos thinks it's a good thing that we have corruption so close to the presidency. Maybe it's just that 'team' spirit coming out again.

Pathetic.

The defection makes sense now. It will be hard to make ethics charges disappear into the state personnel board if the senate is issuing subpoenas

I know you are a pathetic troll, but you are only half correct. She did disrupt the ingrained corrupt republican establishment, but in it's place she just created her own corrupt establishment.

I'm sure you are aware of this, but with your intellectual capacity I expect a well thought out, nuanced resp...

Palin made her career based on screwing over other Republicans. She got the current Party chairman a $12,000 fine, forced a former (R) Attorney General to quit, knocked out an incumbent (R) Governor in the primary and had her Lt. Governor run against Congressman Don Young (R - soon to be indicted) in the recent primary.

So actually, it's a bi-partisan witch hunt cause she's screwing up their livelihood. Some of Palin's fiercest enemies come from Wasilla, like Huggins and Lyda Green. But nice try subby.

So you're arguing that some Republicans are effectively suicide bombing their own party's Presidential campaign out of revenge?

from the Juneau Empire:

Sen. Charlie Huggins, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla, appeared in camouflage pants on a short break from moose hunting to cast his vote. He lamented the political maneuvering that he saw as trying to interfere with the investigation.

"I see all this duck-foot action under the water," Huggins said. "Let's just get the facts on the table."

LOL. How warped can you get?

This is "good news" because it's good that this is coming out NOW, before we elect this power-abusing, know-nothing, religious fanatic puppet to the second-highest office in the land.

Seriously, this not even close to outing intelligence agents, losing thousands of government e-mails, state sponsored torture, or deceiving the county into war. I won't get too excited.

If anyone could make a link to the Anchorage Daily News (adn.com) is a more impartial view of the situation. She might have rapekitgate coming at her soon.

If Kos didn't run with that dumb pregnancy story then there wouldn't be such a bunker mentality around Palin. Kos should shoulder some of the blame for McCain's bounce to last so long.

I think I could find some other words to describe it - 'shocking news', 'depressing news', 'typically Republican news'...

No, no. 'Good' is not what I think when I hear "Our possible vice president is corrupt". That's team-first, America-last attitude.

Putting the team first = America first in this instance.

Republicans have farked everything up for 8 years and then go and nominate Codger and Coont for the highest office in the land. During the most crucial period in our nation's history (according to them.)

So yeah, this is GOOD that it is coming out now. If it comes out after they were to be elected, Cheney has shown us that it doesn't mean shiat.

if I understand this correctly Todd Palin was CC'd on a bunch of emails and as a result was subpoenaed (presumably) so they could circumvent any "executive privelege" arguments.
