That's probably a lot closer to the truth. She probably saw some of the other lottery payouts that other baby mama's are getting from famous baby daddies. Like Matt Leinart's $15K/mo child support payment.

I own those and I have no idea who this guy is.
Although, I can't remember the last time I listened to the radio.

The money should be compensation not only for the child's material needs, but also for someone else to actually be the parent. Leaving work to go to the doctor's. Never getting to stay out late or drink too much. 2,000 a month? Not enough. Considering he's a complete stereotype, 100,000 dollar watches etc. On the whole, men (and the odd woman) don't pay enough, then expect sympathy from everyone who doesn't have a baby on their hip.
Loved that "What You Know" song though.

As much as I love running into threads and asking "Who?" when someone "famous" is mentioned, T.I. is around enough where you should have at least heard he exists.

I think that was him...

Nope, still don't know who he is. Nope, still don't care either. Nope, didn't Google him. Nope, not gonna.

Why am I in this thread? For the nerd jokes (a la rostit).

T.I. has five children, their names are Messiah Ya'Majesty Harris, Domani Uriah Harris, Deyjah Harris, Clifford Joseph "King" Harris III, and Major Philant Harris.[2] He also has a younger sister named Dishonna "Shonna'd" McGhee-Harris who is from Hayneville, Alabama.

Yeah, but the guy probably spends 2,000 a day on himself. The least he could do is use some of his extra income to give his kids a better upbringing.

shiat, I'm 27 and a fan of hiphop and I don't have the slightest idea who this joker is. Its a pretty fair bet I don't care either.

Anybody with any interest in pop culture who sometimes watches MTV and it's ilk or comes across a celebrity type program or watches an award show or looks at movie listings would know who T.I. is, if for no other reason than he is a multi platinum selling artist, has a semi successful movie (ATL), been in videos with Destiny's Child, Akon, Usher, his own, been on Punk'd, in crime news, etc., . Just saying, he is all over the place. Not being a fan of rap as an excuse not to know him is like saying you never heard of Snoop, Eminem, Ludacris, etc.

Well, you lost me at the start (don't care about pop culture), but the fact that you proceeded to list a bunch of things that are so unbelievably shiatty and that no intelligent person should watch (OOOH HE WAS ON PUNK'D!) does not make your statement true. Being in a rap video is not 'all over the place' (unless you are 12).

So you're saying that TI is on the same level as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Ludacris? WRONG. Artistic merit aside, Snoop has been on the scene for 16 years, MM for 10, Ludacris for 8... they've all had major acting roles and cross-promotions. TI is big-time and all, but he's more like Fall Out Boy in popularity and history. I recognize his name, certainly, but initially thought they were talking about T-Pain. Now HE is big!

Anyhow, $2K/month for two kids of a platinum-selling rapper is not sufficient. That would barely cover daycare in a cheap town, much less Atlanta.

sotua 2008-09-12 11:15:59 AM

Who cares about MTV and the stupid crap they show? I don't watch that garbage. I don't watch award shows, or Punk'd.
Just because someone is "famous" doesn't mean every person alive is going to know who they are.
Some of you people are just so ridiculous.

So.. because your bail-out dad is rich and famous, you somehow should be entitled to suck more $$ off from him? Rediculous! Rules are rules. If I was rich and had to pay support I wouldn't pay a red cent more than I had too. Wake up.

Moses To Sandy Koufax 2008-09-12 12:15:52 PM
How have you people not heard of TI? I listen to ZERO rap or hip hop, and even I know who he is. His song "what you know" was a major, major hit. And also a damn good song, too.

Have a listen (not a RickRoll, I promise)

I can't support myself on $2k a month, much less a couple of kids.

I think it's totally reasonable that the babymomma needs more money... Daycare and all that jazz adds up, not to mention entertainment like IMAX and science museums and zoos.

"Rules are Rules," indeed. Child support judgments are based on income differential between the custodial guardian and the non-custodial guardian. If daddy gets a huge raise, the logic is that his quality of life rises with his salary, and his children should enjoy that as if they lived in his house.

Responsibility... not just a fun idea.

FYI, I'm listening to "What You Know" for the first time in my life... never heard a single note of this song before. I don't watch MTV/MTV2 expressly because I'm done with rap videos, so these things happen.
