Was he stranded on a tropical island with the skipper of the ship he worked on and their passengers for what was only supposed to be a three hour tour?

Rob Thomas' colon has been subjected to more blunt force trauma than a piñata at a child's birthday party. It's a fact.

Who the fark cares. Saw MB20 in Feb at the Palace with my daughter. GREAT SHOW!

I liked Matchbox20's early work. My brother hates it, but I can't help but enjoy it, probably because it was something "original" compared to all those emerging boy bands and such.

Rob Thomas' solo album, on the other hand, sucks sphincter.

Just so we have a referrence point here, can we get a current picture of smitty and the mindnumbing hotness he/she is currently banging like a snare drum? Didn't think so.

/It's not like he's Ricky Martin or anything, give the dude a break
//Besides, if he's cool with Santana, he's cool with me

Got dragged to a Rob Thomas solo concert about 3 years ago by my girlfriend. I really didn't want to go and was acting a pissy little biatch the entire way there until I walked into the theater. The crowd was like 80 to 90% women between 25 and 35 years old.

The music wasn't that bad, but the show was great.

I really, seriously thought he was gay. I thought he said he was gay. Where did this wife come from?

His version of "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" with Joss Stone on Youtube is awesome.

mooseyfate: Besides, if he's cool with Santana, he's cool with me

Rob Thomas was the nail in the coffin of the legend known as Carlos Santana, personally driven in by Clive Davis.

As far as I'm concerned, the guy can take all the time he needs to get ready if that means less time making music.

/sorta enjoyed Beige, though

Nemo's Brother 2008-09-11 02:36:08 PM
Matchbox and Rob Thomas are a large part of the death of music. They came onto the scene with Chumbawumba and these other no-talent hacks and killed rock.

paradroid 2008-09-11 02:40:00 PM
That's absolutely correct.

runeytwo 2008-09-11 03:07:26 PM
Do they make Garanimals for adults yet?

You're joking, right? I hated Matchbox 20, but Smooth was a damn good song, as were all but maybe two songs on Supernatural. Hell, even the two songs he did with CHAD farking KROEGER weren't terrible, which just proves that Carlos is the freakin' man and can literally turn shiat to gold. Other than your personal vendetta against Rob Thomas, I see no reason why you'd make the rediculous claim that Carlos Santana is in anyway undeserving of his legendary status as a guitar player/musician in general.

/if you weren't joking, I bid good day to you

Rock and roll can never die...

Already Disturbed 2008-09-11 05:08:16 PM
Mooseyfate, I think you might've read it wrong - ignoring Clive Davis encouraging a great artist to sit in the background of his own albums to move units. Being of the opinion that the song, the album, and the approach are all crap hardly make it a vendetta. You need not defend your enjoyment of the record.

His wife is actually the dancing girl from the video for Smooth...You guys all know the one, she's the one who smuggled the raisins onto the set.

I just can't stand the way he sings. I could care less if it was a duet with Santana, Hendrix, Mozart, and Buddy Holly. He just always sounds like hes trying way to hard.
