Somebody explain to me how "sampling" is not plagiarism. I don't get it.

Is that the one that rips off Zevon? I really think they should play "Play it All Night Long" afterward just so Zevon can say what he thought of "Sweet Home Alabama"

Um...you're not serious, right?

Because I'm pretty unwilling to believe that someone who can turn on a computer, type a url into the correct box, click on a number, click on a little box, and type syntactically correct standard american english cannot manage to understand the difference between "using someone else's stuff with permission" and "using someone else's stuff without permission".

Also, sampling is no less "real" than covering someone else's song. The former is reinterpreting a portion of someone else's performance within your own song, the latter is reinterpreting someone else's entire song with your own performance. They're the same.

Do you know anyone who gets enough sleep? Why does he think we care about his insomnia?

nickxero 2008-09-08 05:07:30 PM
Jesus Christ! The stupid Kid Rock song all those dickbags have been talking about is a "Werewolves Of London" ripoff? With a Skynyrd sample?

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

This just proves that people who listen to the radio don't actually like music.

Where does Kid Rock get off shopping this story about insomnia like he's some tortured genius that is brimming with brilliance? He was doing blow and listened to one of the 5 records he owns and was like "I can make my own words to that."

Fark this. Fark it.

he should listen to his shiatty music, that'll put him to sleep. actually nevermind that's probably what started the insomnia.

But there is a difference between sampling and playing a song and saying "Um...Yeah!" over it over and over. Most of America doesn't realize this since P Diddy sold a lot of albums.

Working in a big box store that sells CDs, I've noticed we've been selling quite a few more copies of his album Rock n Roll Jesus lately, evidently because of this new single. It seems that most people buying the album are retarded 30-something redneck idiots who love them some Skynyrd, I tell ya what. I still have yet to hear the song (see nickxero's point), but absolutely refuse to listen to it. In fact, I want nothing more than to smack each person looking for the album upside the head until their ears bleed... you know, to simulate listening to the insufferable dreck that this cocksucking douchebag tool puts out every couple of years.

On a side note, I always found it funny that, when watching one of VH1's 50 million "best of" shows, said douche was quoted as praising a drummer because he didn't use simple patterns. It used to confuse me, because I wasn't sure that said douche knew what good music was, but it's now painstakingly obvious that there is no better arbiter of shiatty music than Kid Rock.

And you know what? I'd still bang him like a screen door. A latex-covered screen door, but still. For some reason, I find him incredibly hot. No accounting some people's taste, I reckon. Then again, I would prove to George Clooney that yes, I can in fact suck start a Harley.

RAP-ROCKER KID ROCK claims he has not slept properly in years - because he can't stop dreaming up tunes.

Are any of them his?
