Unless the US stays there permanently, it's going to be at least two states no matter what. The Kurds are not going to join the fold. The Sunnis and Shi'ite may exist under the same flag, but probably only out of economic necessity.

Actually the surge is a complete failure by the simplest and most obvious measure - the number of refugees.

And his three state idea is more federalism. Furthermore, it is, de facto, the current policy, especially in Kurdistan.

I've known literary and linguistic geniuses that could not answer a math question to save their life.

I've known empathic, loving personalities that could bridge conflicts and heal people's hurts that couldn't tell you what the word "ambiguous" means.

oh and I've known all sorts of people that claimed to have such a high IQ, but couldn't do either of the things above.

IQ tests come from a society obsessed with competition, and people need to stop judging others, or bragging themselves.
