"She'll agree to an interview when we think it's time and when she feels comfortable doing it"

You want to be Vice President of the United States and you're afraid of an interview?

Impressive.

The McCain campaign really needs to grow a pair soon.

But she's been vetted. She's experienced. She's ready and the best, right?

Then again, this is the same campaign that said that they meant to show Walter Reed Middle School, and couldn't even get a balloon drop on time...

I would have an enormous amount of respect for Senator McCain if he just came out and said, "Yes, I have changed my mind on these issues..."

I would have an enormous amount of respect for Senator McCain if he ever admitted to a mistake or misspeak. That would show him to be the better, humbler man.

But I don't think that I'm ever going to see that in my lifetime.

She bills herself as a "normal mom" we get to ask her questions about that billing. You don't get to use your kids as political props without there being questions asked about them.

I think its perfectly fair to ask her about the failure of her pregnant teenage daughter if she is going to be the nation's #1 advocate of Abstinence Edjukashin.

You mean the ones she can't stop talking about during her speeches? Look - you can't talk tough every time they stick a mic in front of your face at a rally and then cry when CNN asks your spokespeople some hard hitting questions such as how being Governor gives you military command experience. We all know what's going on here - some of us aren't that stupid...she doesn't know the issues and they're still teaching her what to say. She's just about finished getting through the last of the Sean Hannity archival footage so she should be ready to go.

ABC News. See my above post for the link.

"So until at which point in time we feel like the news media is going to treat her with some level of respect and deference, I think it would be foolhardy to put her out into that kind of environment," [McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis] said.

Think about that people. If, God forbid, something should happen to McCain (should he be elected), they expect us to believe that Palin is ready to step in and become the most powerful person on earth - to deal with Putin, Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong-il, bin Laden, etc.

But it would be "foolhardy" to put her up against Brokaw, Larry King, or George Snuffleupagus.

Seriously, people, think about that.

I kind of think this is a win-win for the Democrats. It shows that with two months before the big decisions she's completely unprepared for the rigors of office. She's not even ready for the rigors of campaigning. On the other hand, the longer they keep her in isolation the less people will relate to her or get to know her.

I don't know how anyone, let alone women, could get behind someone who drags that poor baby through every frigging appearance. He's 4 months old. Beyond having special needs this is not a healthy thing to do to a newborn.

Take it one step further: In order to 'prove herself' she would most likely act rashly in an offensive manner rather than in a more experience-tempered political manner. It's not my concern that she wouldn't have the 'balls' (heh) to stand up to Russia etc., I'd be more concerned that she'd start rattling the saber right away and get us into another war.

I really hate to go there...but I think it's irresponsible as well. Forget the fact that she's using him for political gains. At least leave the kid at the hotel with somebody qualified to take care of him. But I think all the traveling they're doing can't be all that good for him. I don't know how severe his condition is, but I would think he'd require more medical care, checkups, therapy than your average infant. Maybe that will come later - I honestly don't know - but I hear that even Jason Kidd watched some of her speeches and thought she was passing him around too much.

Oooh, ohh, then we can start asking Michelle tough ones too, like how her pay went up exactly at the time her husband was elected to the Senate. Or maybe she knows more about Øbama's connections with Rezko and Ayers, and where the money from the Annenberg challenge Barack led went, etc etc.

You know, ones that may actually impact performance in the White House.

Talking points, people. C'mon.

The media has screwed the pooch, of course. With very rare exceptions their ratings addiction has resulted in all kinds of stories left uncovered and a ton of questions never asked.

I'd think the fear of interviews and this mock outrage over any kind of persistence in questioning will make "thinking people" wonder about the readiness of Sen. McCain to make executive decision.

You're right, anyone 8 or over should have had enough sense to see through the Øbama campaign by now, particularly in the last week.

Also, the majority of the attention has been on book banning and troopergate. The GOP wishes the media was focussing only on the teen pregnancy.

Palin has turned out to be a disaster.

Even conservative columnist Andrew Sullivan was forced to admit it when he saw the new Rasmussen poll (which is right of center).

It shows 6% of undecided voters say they are more likely to vote for McCain because of Palin but 31% of undecided voters say they are less likely to vote for McCain because of Palin.

Smooth move Einstein.

Yeah, him being clearly ahead in the polls and all. Good FSM, at least it is the GOP who is blessed with these types of clowns.

If McCain should somehow win, my wife and I have already made the arrangements to protect us against the avalanche of fail that will follow.

Is she going to somehow break with McCain and represent a whole host of new policies that McCain doesn't agree with?
