Earliest persistent memory: laying on a bean bag chair with my dad when I was 3 yrs old listening to his Sgt. Pepper LP. My favorite part was the animal stampede in Good Morning, Good Morning.

I wasn't knocking it or putting it down. I was just saying it as a fact and it's true more for England than here. I'm not saying that we're better or greater, or comparing us with cheesecake as a dessert or cheese as a thing or whatever it is. I just said what I said and it was wrong. Or it was taken wrong. And now it's all this.

It was 1973, I was 11, & my best friend played me his older brother's copy of Hey Jude. Life would never be the same. I immediately stopped spending my $5 weekly allowance on Mad Magazines & baseball cards & started buying every Beatles album.

Cue the mouth-breathers shiatting all over the Beatles.

if the Beatles are "cheesecake"

then
Yes is "a chocolate wafer crust with lime Jello (with veggies or fruit in it) on top"
ELP is a "nanaimo bar"
Genesis is "warm apple pie with cheese on top"
King Crimson is "black forest cake w/ a cherry on top"

Would that make the Jonas Bros. "spotted dick with warm custard".

I was camping out in the backyard the first time I heard "Hey Jude." The local radio station had been promoting the premiere of the new Beatles' single. They played it right after midnight - all 7:05 of it. Hearing that deceivingly simple song for the first time on my single speaker AM radio laying in my backyard is right up there with any other musical experience of my life.

So I guess PFM would be a "massive pile of cannoli"?

This is reminding me of alt.music.yes circa 1999.

Wait, this got greenlit? I've known that ever since I can remember...

/I'm a Georgeaholic.
//I spent two hours today listening to him, ironically enough.
///George Harrison may be the very reason I get up every morning, thank you.

Does that make me a Johnaholic or a Lennonaholic? Either way it's not recognized as a disease, so there's not a problem with not wanting to be cured.

I think Yesterday and In My Life were the ones that really struck me.

My mom only ever had me listen to the early bubble gum ones.
