Weird...it almost sounds like they're playing it faster than Pantera.

Badass.

Witty Handle 2008-09-07 03:00:38 PM
Well, that was... long.

I love things like this.

I hate Pantera, but I love this song. I did not enjoy this particular video/arrangement. Nevertheless, that violinist is crazy.

fernandez 2008-09-07 04:03:56 PM
Other than the fact the violinist looked as if she was siezing the entire time, I enjoyed that better as a strings arrangment

carmody 2008-09-07 04:07:59 PM
It was bad enough the first time. God, Pantera sucks. SUUUUUCKS. It's like listening to a band comprised of patients in a chronic constipation ward.

This.

Fun time on the violin though, eh sister?

I never thought it was possible to make anything by that band of redneck retards sound any worse. I was wrong.

Madbassist1 [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 06:31:59 PM
those redneck retards play better than ANY of you.

THIS.

Now we wait for this to become a "I know of a more talented band than Pantera" thread.

pantera rules. i hate you, and i hate the bands that you like.

whodareswins86 2008-09-07 07:37:31 PM
I know of a more talented band than Pantera. They're called Metallica.

Even if you win the Special Olympics, your still retarded

phedex 2008-09-07 10:41:47 PM
man, all the pantera hate? They carried metal in the 90's, when barely anyone recognizable was playing metal. they had some of the most incredible, energetic live shows to date and the music still embodies what metal is all about. If you don't get amped up listening to some of their songs, then I don't know if anything ever could get you amped up.

weak, guys.

Ishkur 2008-09-07 11:34:05 PM
I was amped by Pantera.

When I was 12, and thought I was hardcore for smoking a cigarette.

Seriously, Phil belching out "Headbutt some broken glass!!" is easily the silliest and stupidest line in the history of music.

i cant believe we're finally agreeing on something. metallica has never even been a blight on the ass of the worst pantera album.

as for this, it was exactly like EVERY metal song done with strings-gay.

That's Rachel Barton, the Chicago violinist who lost her leg in a tragic door-closing-on-leg-and-dragging-her-through-the-train-station accident. She has a whole album like this -- and it's terrible -- and I own it. Ugh.

MikoSquiz 2008-09-08 06:22:01 AM
Look, Pantera are great and all, but they never did anything that can touch Master of Puppets.

Nobody did.

(Also, didn't Apocalyptica do a version of Cowboys From Hell too?)

Weigard 2008-09-08 07:53:35 AM
Man that was way better than when I played it on Guitar Hero.

Balrog1 2008-09-08 09:26:19 AM
Is this song about George Bush?

onestr8 2008-09-08 12:43:01 PM
Typical metal - I couldn't understand the lyrics at all.

phedex 2008-09-08 02:38:52 PM
No one could touch pantera in their prime. The same can be said for metallica in their prime, megadeth, or slayer.

On their own merits, Master of Puppets, Rust In Peace, Reign In Blood, Vulgar Display of Power... are all top albums but for different reasons. Metal is more about eras and who brought their best at the right time in its history.

not trolling, not arguing.. just presenting my opinion.

And a damn good one it is. We can all agree on that.

We can all agree on that.

No, we can't. Slayer has always sucked.

they never had a 'prime'. every album was tits except for 'far beyond driven' which, while the weakest one easy, was still pretty good.

Damn...and we were getting along so well...

Reinventing the Steel = Pantera weakness

I'm with you. Reinventing the Steel was the last of my Pantera experience. Everything up to that point was great.
