(Flickr) Cool Quite possibly the coolest cake you will see all day. All the muppet show characters done with incredible detail. It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights   (flickr.com) divider line 120

Incredibly edible! Wonder if Miss Piggy tastes like bacon.

Wow, incredible.

I wonder how many hours it took to make?

DslainteC [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 08:59:17 AM
Very cool, but they left out the most important detail for a Muppet cake. They have the chickens but don't show any eggs. Shouldn't a Muppet cake have the hen's son?

RabidDog [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 09:07:13 AM
That was better than I was expecting.

That one muppet, the woman with the big lips, always looks like a penis to me.

Errk [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 09:11:01 AM
But how does it taste?

MrSinister [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 09:26:33 AM
Their theme song does fit Fark.

...why do we always come here? I guess we'll never know...it's kind of like a torture, to have to watch the show trainwrecks...

I hate cake.

So is that a yes or a no?

Awesome. I just finished watching the Mummenschanz episode from season one, went to check out Fark and this was the top headline.

Ah, the muppet show. Good times. If you were going to spend hours decorating in great detail something that is just going to get eaten anyway, there are few subjects more worthy.

buzzvert [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 10:36:46 AM
Because Kermit is a sometimes food.

First decent Fark thread, first accurate headline and first link worth the time it took to click in I don't know how long.

Now for 3 more months of Bush bashing, glowball warmism frauds, inaccurate headlines, liberal troll baiting people, etc.

3steps 2008-09-07 10:37:34 AM
That was awesomely cool! I wish there was a story so we knew who made the cake. Kermit and Miss Piggy on top.. I'm thinking it was a wedding cake.

The kids just watched The Muppet Movie this morning. Technically they are 'too old' for it. But they like it anyway hehe.

It's a if I ever get married I'm gonna convince my spouse the cake pictured should be our cake. (recreated, of course).

selwonkcire 2008-09-07 10:39:29 AM
Pretty nice, except... Sgt. Floyd Pepper is left-handed, as all the Muppets are. He's holding his guitar the wrong direction.

jarl_jesper 2008-09-07 10:39:50 AM
it´s a trap!

Ranger677 [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 10:41:51 AM
Nice. I like how they put all the band members along one side.

For something REALLY twisted, go read "Rocky Horror Muppet Show" (new window), by Tom Smith. The scary thing is that it works so well!

Judging by the first-place thing underneath it in one of the pics, and the other baked goods evident in the background, it is part of a cake-judging contest at a county fair, so probably not necessarily limited to just wedding cakes (I know ours wasn't.)

lady_nocturne [TotalFark] 2008-09-07 10:45:29 AM
In fact, the beginning of the slide show says it was a blue ribbon winner at the Kentucky State Fair.

docweasel: First decent Fark thread, first accurate headline and first link worth the time it took to click in I don't know how long.

Technically, the headline is only mostly accurate since the cake just has the more well-known Muppet Show characters.

/There's a distinct lack of Sweetums, Robin, Marvin Suggs, etc...

Also, if you go to the Flickr page, it says the following:

This insanely awesome cake, created by Heather Haynes of Clarksville, IN, was a blue ribbon winner in the "Special Technique Cake" category at the 2007 Kentucky State Fair.

And, hey, since we're talking about all things great & inspiring as pertaining to Muppetdom, here's a clip from Jim Henson's Memorial Service.
