It'd be nice if he died a long, horrible death.

Somehow I don't have much faith for any other douchebag successor he might have chosen.

The DPRK's Ambassador to Hades had asked for an extension. So the Boss grabs him by the neck and says "Tell Kim to get his ass down here! No more stalin!"

The Boss can be pretty funny sometimes.

Befuddled 2008-09-07 02:22:46 AM
I wonder if NK can pull off another transition in the cult of personality like happened when Kim Il-Sung died and his son, Kim Jong-Il, took over. Usually such tricks only work once.

RsquaredW 2008-09-07 02:23:15 AM
Given that the guy has something like ten body doubles, couldn't the inner circle of the regime just quietly assassinate Kim, stick one of the doubles in and suddenly the "dear leader" makes a complete recovery?

Brisketeer 2008-09-07 02:23:17 AM
Wouldn't the use of Chinese physicians violate the precepts of the Dear Leaders philosophy of Juche?

Well, I seem to be just fine. No health problems here, no sir.

I thought Kim Jong Ill died. Aw shiat.

Felgraf 2008-09-07 02:23:55 AM
I just hope if he goes, he goes quickly and doesn't wake back up and realizing he's dying.

Because that man seems to have a bit of a god complex. And he has enough artillery pointed as Seoul to have it leveled in a few hours, doesn't he? I wouldn't put it past someone that.. well.. nuts.. to decide they want to "take some people with them".

It would just be bad fiscal policy to let one of the world's single largest importers of American goods (especially music and film) die while the dollar is weak.

On a side note, is it too early to start calling dibs on his stuff?

lawboy87 2008-09-07 02:40:11 AM
I've never believed that N Korea has working nukes. They filled up a moutain with lots of conventional explosives and some radioactive materials (in affect a "dirty bomb") and detonated it. The air that was being "tested" showed radioctive materials, but that does not absolutely indicate it was a nuclear bomb that exploded.

There were some interesting seismograph readings from the time, taken in S. Korea and Japan that showed an explosion that was significantly less than what one would normally expect of a bomb of that reported size and design.

Go back and read some news articles from around that time, there were numerous people with experience in this area who were questioning what had really happened. I know this is a bit on the "conspiracy" side, but given how damned near everything the government of N. Korea has said has been a lie for the last 50 years or so, not that far fetched.
